I don’t understand. Are you demanding cites and then refusing to read them for yourself? If you want me to go through and count how many posts agree or disagree for you, you’re out of luck. As for whether it represents the board, okay – what measurement are you using that produces evidence of a board-wide taboo against calling panhandlers lazy crooks which just happens to be suspended within that one long thread?

The perception of you, and your motives, and your style, with the offer you made is what it is. The only changes that you can make from here on out would be to strengthen, rather than reduce, the perception of you as being high-handed and domineering.
