Three Dog Night singer Chuck Negron dies at 83

He had an incredible voice, and thankfully did eventually clean up or he would never have lived anywhere near this long. RIP.

Aw, hearing of his passing takes me back to 7th grade when I first heard the nonsensical opening line, JEREMIAH WAS A BULLFROG! That alone gives him a special place in my memories, a place of happy memories. A simpler time.

Joy to the world brother, RIP.

That was the first record I bought.

Did he ever make it to Spain? I know he kinda liked the music.

The best singer nobody heard of. Three Dog Night was a power group with a good string of hits, and Negron had a voice that rivaled any singer of his time.

I don’t have much to offer, other than he and the late comedian Taylor Negron were first cousins.

This was my first album. I wore it out. Pieces of April was my absolute favorite song. Thanks for the Music, Chuck. RIP

I was so sure he’d died a while ago…

I went to a festival the summer before last, and joked that I was seeing “One Dog Night”, as it was just Danny Hutton left from the original three.

I assumed that was because Cory and Chuck had both died. I’d read about Cory’s demise, but just now read how Negron had been kicked out in 1985 (drugs), and guitarist Paul Kingery filled in as the third “Dog”.

Sorry, Chuck, hope you’re enjoying the peace you deserve!

RIP

One of my favorite singers…. I highly recommend his autobiography, “Three Dog Nightmare”

Three Dog Night was my very first stadium concert. I think I was 12, so that’s… a lot of years ago.

I was crazy about the band and so excited to see them perform live. I had a mad crush on Chuck Negron.

Rest in peace, Chuck. You made my adolescence more bearable than it would otherwise have been. I still enjoy the music you made from those simpler times. Thank you.
