We watched it here as well. I thought about the same as others - LAME dialogue, extremely scetchy connections to reality (hard to suspend disbelief THAT much), very stereotypical characters. Sigh.

However I feel I can positively predict that in the end they will discover the reason the Earth is being attacked by this alien is that Lor has once again made an evil compact with the Crystalline Entity.

ME! ME! ME!

I was very interested because of the cast, Dinklage is always good but he was given bugger-all to do. It is nice to see Spiner, I especially liked the scene in the conference room when someone mentioned Klingons. The science was pretty much dreck. I will not be back.

I haven’t finished watching it yet. I like the concept of alien or other-dimensional beings wanting to re-program us. I liked the look of the glass forest.

Are we supposed to believe the aliens are hostile? Couldn’t they just be clumsy? “Oops, didn’t know that’d kill you. Here, let’s try it this way.” ??

Maybe these shows are better for viewers who have no science background.

I’m puzzled about why they saw the thing enter our atmosphere but didn’t see it leave. If it can travel undetected between dimensions, why didn’t it come here that way?

Maybe it’s anti-feminist on my part, but why do the experts (scientists, detectives, etc.) all have to be gorgeous young women?

I don’t think it’s anti-feminist at all. Just once, I’d like to see an older, dowager-like scientist as the female lead. A character doesn’t have to be physically perfect to be interesting.

Is it Lor or Lore?

Lore.

I liked it okay. The story was pretty cool, and I really liked them using the 4-dimensional shape expressing itself in 3 dimensions idea. But the acting was ehhh…and the “red team” scientists were cardboard cutouts. I liked the federal agent dude, Cavanaugh, but the others were not well-conceived characters IMHO.
Still, I will watch it. Not enough genre TV for me to ignore it.

I liked it. My husband liked it. We’re sticking around.

He does seem to be getting typecast as the mysterious creepy guy.

I only half-heartedly watched it because I was also reading a Discworld novel. I may watch it again though.

Lore, as opposed to Data.

I’d love to see Peter Dinklage in a good role on a regular basis; but every time a show like this is done on a network, I have to wonder – why the hell don’t they get actual science fiction writers to write these things?
