tight pants.

my jeans were washed for the first time since i bought them and somebody put them in the dryer on regular heat. so now they feel like hell and are very tight. is there any way i can save them? for example, if i were to rewash them in cold water and then wear them while they were somewhat wet, do you think that would work?

When this happens to me I just keep wearing them. Eventually they are broken in and loosen up to a more comfortable fit.

unless its painful I would just wear them. They will stretch out again and the next time you wash them don’t dry them.

Yeah, I’ve always found that they soon stretch out to a comfortable fit. In fact, that’s my preferred fit…just a bit too tight out of the wash because I know they’ll feel just right in a short while.

A long time ago, when line-drying was in fashion, folks could use pants-stretchers. They were aluminum frames stuffed into the legs for drying. Once the jeans were dry, they came off the frame looking as if they had been ironed. My brother-in-law, who is 61, remembers his pants hanging on these.

My high school history teacher once told a classmate of mine that “Your jeans remind me of a cheap hotel. No ballroom.”
