Time for a new pediatrician!

I had to go back and check that I did indeed write that - y’all just need to slow down, I guess! :stuck_out_tongue:

Some people. Sheesh.

My mom is a pediatrician and has always been good with raising us about not being ashamed of our bodies, knowing the proper words for it all, etc. It’s sad to know someone who is supposed to be taking care of kids (not just their physical being, but mental, too) is doing that. I mean, it could be worse (abuse), but that’s just not cool. Find a doctor you’re comfortable with.

Have you considered just talking to the doc about it? Say “we’re trying to ensure she’s not ashamed of her body, and that type of comment doesn’t help”. The doc might just reply with something like “yeah, that was dumb, I don’t know what I was thinking. You’re right.”

But then he might learn from his Mistakes, and where’s the outrage in that?

I didn’t want to address it right then, for two reasons. I was having trouble being civil in the first place because of the wait. And I didn’t want to make it a bigger, more memorable issue for my daughter.

I am planning to call and talk to the office about the wait times and the comment. They do deserve the chance to correct things. But I don’t think I’ll wait around to see if they do, especially given the attitude of the doctor and nurse about the wait. The weird comment was just the crowning moment of idiocy.

I’d switch pediatricians just for the wait. We never have to wait more than a few minutes for a wellness visit. Even for an emergency sick visit, it is rare that we have to wait more than 20 minutes and I don’t think that we’ve gone as long as 40 minutes.
