Binge watching Schitt’s Creek on Netflix. It is hysterical!
Happy Sunday!
Happy Father’s Day!
It’s a cloudy 82 degrees outside.
We haven’t needed to turn on the AC yet.
I was hoping for some sun today since we sprayed the weeds out behind the fence. I don’t know if it matters though, we are out of round-up and instead of the vinegar, salt, and dish soap solution we used bleach. I think it will work even without the sun. Inside the fence we’ll use the vinegar solution since Ripple has to stick his nose into everything.
Outside of some more yard irk nothing special on the agenda today.
I’m glad Mauser is doing better.
Happy Mauser Day, Cupcakes That is good news.
Spidey, read your agenda for today and wondering where I send the flowers…
red, bought a new toaster about a year ago, cost next to nothing and will hopefully last the 20+ years the previous one did.
OK, back to the World Cup. It’s 91F outside and unless I have to go out I’m staying inside.
Good news on Mauser cupcakes!
spidey between you and Moommm I am constantly exhausted.
I am having coffee. Thus far such is my day.
Daughter, SIL and Roxy have gone to his mom’s again today, so **FCD **and I are having pizza delivered for late lunch/early supper. Chillage ensues.
Howdy Y’all! We have achieved deheatnenization, N.O.L., and nappage. Quite the busy day!
CupCakes yay for the good news about Mauser!
Wetone I loved Schitt’s Creek!
Armadillos dug up newly planted stuff at my little place in the woods. I presume they were looking for worms or grubs for dinner.
My mom has skunks do the same thing, and around here it’s raccoons.
We don’t have armadillos here, but we do have raccoons… What’s weird is that I’ve planted on that hill for the last 14 years, and this is the first time my plantings have been unplanted.
Pizza has been ingested, plus I sliced up 2 medium sized poke loins into a dozen chops. The ends are in the crock pot with Sonny’s sweet BBQ sauce, to be pulled for sammiches. Eight of the chops are in the freezer and 4 are soaking in teriyaki marinade for tomorrow’s supper. I also dumped some water on my small planters on the porch - they were kinda dried out.
**FCD **finished his design for the gunner’s seat support and he’s taking a nap. I’m about to assume the position in front of the TV. It’s been a pretty good Sunday.
I took a 3 hour nap. It felt so good. Had salad and cheese stuffed mushrooms at 3pm. Was that lunch or dinner?
Napped here as well. Still sleepy.
Glad Mauser is doing better, cupcakes
Apparently Vinnie Schnauzer likes bone meal, which we put in the holes when we plant tomaters. He dug 2 of them up last week. We’ve had to put tomater cages around them to protect them.
Just hauled the window A/C units downstairs and put them in their summer homes. It’s supposed to get up to 90 today and that’s a little too hot for us. One goes in the window in the bedroom and one in the dining room. I’m testing them out now.
Remember I told you about that noxious liquid dentist wanted me to rinse my mouth out with twice a day? Well the taste stays with you. For hours. Not even coffee or coke will cut through that foul taste. Know what does? Reeses peanut butter cups.
I have a big bag of 'em in the kitchen. :D:cool:
Dinner tonight will be grilled chickie butts and corn onna cob.
And maybe a salad. I say corn onna cob counts as a vegetable. Wifey says no. :o
I read your article about the armadillos, Flytrap. I expect if they do make it to Washington the repubs will legalize hunting them from helicopters.
I’ve lived here seven years, and just discovered the nearby Chinese restaurant, Orient Express this year.
A dentist gave me some expensive stuff to rinse with. It is mostly hydrogen peroxide, which is considerably less expensive, and I’ve been using that ever since.
Of course corn onna cob is a vegetable - it’s certainly not a mineral or animal!! You may quote me.
Cleaned, napped, am martini-ing. Got cock pot sketti sauce and meatballs going fro dinner. Gordie has kept The Invisible Mole People away as my Father’s Day gift.
Yay for Mauser doing better ,CupCakes!
Mooommmm!, I don’t have racoon or armadillos. I have pool bunnies. And the occasional fox.
Bumba, corn is a vegetable, and organic. Inorganic corn on the cob would be pebbles glued to an oblong rock.
Yay Mauser!
metal mouse, the toaster was <10, IIRC and my last surviving electrical appliance that I came to Tennessee with. I figure .025 +electricity to use it per year, I got my money’s worth.
flytrap, last week, I saw armadillo road kill here in my town. Prior to that, the furthest east that I had seen them was about 40 miles west of Nashville (for reference, I’m 25 miles east, giving the critters an expanded range of 65 miles in the last year, so they are headed Moooooom’s way).
bumba, unless you are buying premium dog food for Vinnie, his kibble likely has bone meal in it. He’s likely thinking that you put in a snack bar for him.
I got a lot of chores done today once I got started. I fixed a killer batch of chicken and dumplings, my grandmother’s recipe for creamy cucumber salad, fried cabbage and some yellow squish that I picked up at the farmer’s market the other day. I took some down to my friend and her husband. They’re dealing with some end of life decisions on his part and my group of heathens is taking meals to them and helping with their horses. Jim was in good spirits and really liked the cucumber salad (he’s a midwestern German Irish mutt and grew up on some of the same food I did).
I’m waiting until 60 Minutes is over so’s I don’t disturb Dad’s TV time to wish him a happy Father’s day.
Corn is indeed a vegetable. According to my mother, it’s roughage. That’s old timey for fiber. Plus it’s an excellent vehicle for butter.
I still think broom handle when I see “Mauser”
Fruit have the seeds inside, so corn is indeed a vegetable.
Where are you in Tennessee, missred? My Mother’s family is from Finley in far North Eastern Tennessee.
Dogbutt, what does it mean, “Pool Bunny”?
I think 98.
Dogbutt, what does it mean, “Pool Bunny”?
[/QUOTE]
All the bunnies live by the apartment pool, hence “pool bunnies”
flytrap, I’m in a suburb southeast of Nashville.
