Time magazine pranks Trump!

After what’s been shown to you here, you’re still going with “no way it was accidental”??? Really???

If they were trying to put horns on him, they did a crappy job. They should’ve done what the did to Bernanke.

I’m going more with this than horns.

Well, whether it is intended to be horns or not, it’s a crappy picture. I know they don’t have much to work with to begin with, the guy is revolting looking, but the lighting is terrible. His hair looks thinner than usual, his forehead is double dented, and overall it is just an odd angle, him looking back like that. And like Trancephalic and SeaDragon Tattoo already pointed out…that chair is ragged.

It’s like they didn’t even try to get a dignified image.

So maybe that is the actual prank.

Actually I think Putin is the worst. Bernanke’s are more bunny-ear like. Putin’s appendages are quite clearly horns.

They’re cat ears. It’s a subtle reference to Henrietta Pussycat:

*Henrietta Pussycat is X’s neighbor and lives in a small yellow and orange school house supported by a strong limb on the tree. Early episodes established her as the governess of several nice mice, thus the schoolhouse. She has a habit of randomly inserting “meow” into her sentences. When she was first introduced, she could only say “beautiful”, “telephone”, and “Mister Rogers”, in addition to “meow”. She is anxious, preoccupied with beauty, and prone to jealousy. *

Yep, sounds like Trump, except he says, “Bigly”, “billions”, “tremendous”, and “Rosie O’Donnell”, and lives in a gilded treehouse in the most gaudy building in Midtown Manhattan.

You can only do so much with that clay. At least they managed to make him not look fluorescent orange and mostly conceal his infantile hands. The chair was just fine before he sat in it, it’s just that the stuffing doesn’t want to be associated with this in any way and is desperately trying to make a run for it, kind of like a flock of sheep after coming upon a mad skunk.

Just wait until he gets his laser and flying circus of runway models. Then he’ll show the world what a real [DEL]Bond villain[/DEL]president looks like.

Stranger

I see it now but my first thought was: is that a Prince of Wales feather motif on the back of the chair?

(my bolding) Out of curiosity, do you get punched a lot?

Time themselves has a listicle of 35 times they’ve given people horns. Not that big of a deal.

Wow, they did it to Bono, the Pope and Bill Clinton also…those Time graphic designer’s don’t like anyone.

But, but… are you a “very experienced graphic designer”?? Huh???

I think Christ’s were the best horns they gave. Close behind is the elephant behind.

You must know a lot of rather violent people.

He’s not wrong. You usually don’t reveal the thing that’s “wrong” with the photo before the person has had a chance to look and find it for themselves.

Nerdshaming on this board is kinda weird.

You put it in a spoiler box, for who want the info and don’t feel like having to play the game.

It wasn’t a “guess the error” thread but a “OMG it so obvious, but I’m not going to tell you”

You misspelled wrong-shaming. But that is generally only when the wrongee insists he’s right despite overwhelming evidence that he’s wrong.

Has Time admitted to this prank or could this one of those “fake news” stories I’ve been hearing so much about recently?

Posted upthread already. It’s not a prank unless it’s been a prank at least 35 times:

Here:

It is what it is. I’m amused to see “horns” even if they’re not the first time an “M” has done something stupid in Time. Bunny ears? Fine. Meaningless juxtaposition? Fine.

However, having done enough layout comp and worked with enough pros to know how they see things, I would bet several wooden nickels it’s in no way accidental.

I bow to your superior expertise on this matter. The artist/technician may have (well, probably did) deliberately create that effect. It seems to be a tradition at Time.

Thanks for pointing it out.

This time, it was intentional.

The other 34 times, it was accidental.

Is that your considered professional opinion?

Has the minority-President-elect commented (aka “tweeted”) on it?
