(six minutes into the movie, the actual Luke Skywalker, a 16-year-old jock from rural Illinois, is jolted awake in the middle of third period World History. He realizes that everything was just crazy a dream, no doubt induced by his binge drinking at Skender’s sweet-ass kegger last night. No Jedis, no Yoda, no Wookie, no pod races.
The movie then shifts to Luke’s coming-of-age story which finds him debating whether to ask Julie, the really cute head cheerleader to prom, or the girl he’s unexplainably drawn to: Amy, the frumpy girl that all of his friends throw things at.
At about the middle of the movie, after a soundtrack-enhanced scene in which Amy is made over by her older sister Patti, Luke sees Amy in the cafeteria and his mind is made up: Amy’s totaly hot! In the end, Luke takes Amy to prom, he learns never to judge a book by it’s cover, and also never to let peer pressure get in the way of his true feelings.
Action figures would include Luke, Patti, Amy, Julie, Luke’s twin sister Leia, Amy’s gay best friend David, and Luke’s father Darth Vader.
