Even farmworkers exempt from federal minimum wage law?
You are a fucking idiot. Goodbye.
Even farmworkers exempt from federal minimum wage law?
You are a fucking idiot. Goodbye.
Again, since you’re foreign, you probably don’t know who these people are. Did you read the biographies of the Board of Directors?
Head of the AFL-CIO.
Co-Director of the Industrial Areas Foundation, started by Saul Alinsky.
President of the NEA.
President of the United Steelworkers.
President of the SEIU.
President of the IAM.
President of the National Partnership for Women and Families.
President of AFSCME.
President of the Communications Workers of America.
President of the American Federation of Teachers.
President of the UAW.
Chair of the DNC.
You don’t think that this group might be ever so slightly biased?
I knew that one of you idiots would bring up the exemption(s). However, this thread was about waitresses, not farmers.
My god you’re a fucking idiot.
I defended you earlier in the thread, because your point about the law requiring everyone to paid at least $7.25 is not only correct but, i think, relevant to the discussion. That’s a point worth making, because even in tipped industries employers are, in the end, responsible for ensuring that all employees receive at least minimum wage.
But for you to deny that there are employers who ignore or violate the minimum wage laws is beyond idiotic. The same Department of Labor that you’ve been relying on to support your argument about minimum wage laws also has, on its website, news releases about dozens of cases from this year alone where companies have been found to violate the Fair Labor Standards Act.
I thought you were being dogmatic about the legal issue in order to make a point about the importance of the law itself. From now on, when i’m tempted to give you the benefit of the doubt, i’ll remind myself that your default state is TROLL.
If you think that an organization made up of union leaders and other ragtag leftists is unbiased, I currently have a bridge for sale in New York.
ragtag leftists? That’s not very nice.
It’s also the Pit.
The US Department of Labor is “made up of union leaders and other ragtag leftists”? :dubious:
Yeah, but what do you have against leftists? We’re fun and interesting.
No, the EPI is, which running coach feebly tried to use as a cite.
Neither fun nor interesting would be terms I would use to describe them.
Those people are not on the Board of Directors you were referring to as ragtag leftists.
More of a Nazi sorta guy?
Well, everybody has biases, so all we have are fake facts, I guess. :dubious:
I’m sure they’re baised in terms of what issues they choose to examine. I bet they’ve never given equal time to investigating the abuses that big corporations have to put up with in this country.
But unless you’ve got evidence that this particular report’s findings were incorrect, or that this organization has a track record of peddling crap, then you’ve got nothing.
Oh, please. What a bullshit, convenient rule made up because you can’t support your claim.
That is true. You know what else is true? If you try to claim that money from your employer, you’ll get fired. They won’t fire you specifically for that, but you will absolutely get fired for some bullshit reason. As a bonus, in a smaller town you’ll quickly find out that you now have a reputation, and then you won’t get hired by anyone else either.
So yes, you can get minimum wage, but only if you are willing to commit career suicide.
Savvy?
Yes, you probably think you do…
It’s almost official. This thread has nosedived.
Munch is absolutely right. As someone who has worked in the food service industry, what you didn’t was unacceatable. The poor server who had nothing to do with the preparation of your food got a nickel as a tip because of something they didn’t even do. If I were you I’d apologize to the server IN person.
The OP is several states away from the server by now and maybe on his way back to the UK.
