Tired of the Catholics

That’s all. Just tired of them. TIred of Birth Control taking, not taking the Pope’s word as law(Isn’t that the point?), Evolution believing Catholics.

Well that’s a pretty sweeping generalization.

The Pope will have you excommunicated for your random capitalization, among other reasons.

And why do you care what they do?

Huh? How does “evolution believing” rank among those items?

Are you saying that a belief in evolution runs counter to church teachings?

If so…you’re quite wrong.

Standard Capitalization is so Suburban. Random Capitalization keeps you on your toes…

So far as I know, the Church’s official word on evolution is that it isn’t incompatible with the Church’s view on the origin of life. Ditto the big bang.

So Catholics who believe in evolution aren’t hypocrites like those who use birth control or don’t “take the Pope’s word as law.” (I assume your rant is about what you perceive as hypocricy?)

"Huh? How does “evolution believing” rank among those items?

Aahhhhhhh! Quit it! Now I am tired of you too.

Evolution does not contradict Church teaching. Additionally, though we try to keep people believing otherwise, Catholics sin too.

The cat’s out of the bag!

I suspect that Exion wants the Theory of Evolution to be against Church Doctrine.

Actually, capitalizing Suburban is appropriate in a GM family. Now if you’re one of the FoMoCo people. . . .

Ahh…one of them there “cafeteria Catholics” the kids are talking about these days.

“I suspect that Exion wants the Theory of Evolution to be against Church Doctrine.”

Exion doesn’t give one, one way or the other if Evolution Theory is against church doctrine. But if the Church position (which I assume comes from the Pope, or a previous Pope) is that “Evolution Theory is not compatible with what we believe,” that would seem to put the kibosh on it, it would seem.

Exion wants Sarah Michelle Ghellar

To the best of my knowledge, that is incorrect. Re-read Gr8Kat’s post above.

This doesn’t look incompatible to me.

Both Pius XII, in Humani Generis in 1950, (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/13/story_1354_1.html) and John Paul II, in an address in 1996, (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/13/story_1352_1.html) have said that evolution is not incompatible with Catholic doctrine, provided that one recognizes it as one of God’s methods of creation, and provided that one acknowledges that humans are endowed with a soul, instantaneously created by God, and nonhumans aren’t.

Basically, the Vatican’s beef with evolution is that some people use it to give reasons that it isn’t necessary for God to exist, or that it isn’t necessary for God to have created life. They tend not to like those ideas.

“This doesn’t look incompatible to me.”

If you read a little farther into the link you provided, FairyChatMom, you will see that the belief in Adam and Eve IS A NECESSITY. There is no arguement abvout that.

I don’t know any part of Evolution theory that says that at one time there were only two, IMMORTAL, humans, who after being deceived by the FATHER OF LIES, became mortal and developed pain during childbirth, then spread throughout the Earth.

That is what I mean about the tiringness of certain peoples. That vague “I beieve the Pope AND the Scientists, because a day could be longer than a day, and it’s all just metaphor anyway.”

Ahh, shit. Looks like the kids are out of school already.

Self-identification so soon?

Hint: casuistry works better when one is prepared to display an understanding of the material rather than simply objecting to cherry-picked statements.

Yeah, and I bet you claim St Anne isn’t Mary’s mother, either!

Exion, dear, you need to get out more.
