For various unimportant reasons, I take part in surveys for Tivo. Normally, they are extremely dreary. This month, however, they’ve gone political. And I’m pretty sure they’ve dropped a few too many tabs of acid
Moved to Cafe Society from Elections with expanded thread title.
They don’t even fact check their own poll apparently. Adama was not Captain in new BSG, he was Commander, then promoted to Admiral.
Also I don’t think either Adama is eligible to run for President, seeing as they’re not natural born citizens. Also applies to Picard and Mal Reynolds. Leela, I’m not sure. She thought she was an alien but turned out to be from the sewers of New New York.
And I’ve probably given this way more thought and time than it should ever have gotten.
Sisko is the clear choice. He has experience presiding over a situation always on the verge of war/chaos, keeping it all together and smiling.
Consider yourself topped.
Went back and looked at the list. Did you know you could’ve voted for Captain Merrill Steubing (The Love Boat)?
Now I’m picturing Capt. Steubing and Gopher on a starship… and The Doc (“Dammit, Merrill, I’m a doctor, not a plot device!”)
I think it’d be highly amusing to try to shoehorn Mal into a political position. Think there’s any chance in the 'Verse he’d accept it?
I too took that TiVo survey and was amused and bewildered by those questions. All I can figure is somewhere you’ll see some infotainment news show put up a chart proclaiming, "Americans prefer to elect Capt Kirk over Mitt Romney and Pres Obama!"
