TMI Medical Question

My bladder has vanished. Sounds odd but I just don’t have to go at all. I’ve drank a bottle of soda and two glasses of cranberry juice but nothing. Nada. It’s a little disconcerting, been going on for a couple days ( I have gone to the bathroom, just no direct alarm bells, if you see what I mean). No odd symptoms except that, I’ve noticed. UTI, maybe?

I’m guessing you’re a female based on the UTI thing (although men can get them too), but if you’re a male it can be a sign of an enlarged prostate.

Do you have a soccer ball in your lower abdomen? If so, you may have a problem below the bladder. If not, 2 days without urine output, if you really mean next to none, makes me worry about kidney failure. Legs or ankles swelling? Feel a little short of breath? Get thee to the ER.

I think the OP is saying he/she has been to the bathroom but hasn’t actually felt that he/she had a full bladder at any point. ICBW.

Yes, that’s it. I’m a male btw. I’m something of a hypochondriac, so I may well be making a mountain out of a molehill here.

Have you made any drastic changes to your diet? Or is there any pain or discomfort around your lower abdomen?

Are you taking any opiate painkillers? Codeine, Vicodin, Percocet? These can greatly decrease the sensation of a full bladder. Some illegal drugs too. If so, the sensation will return soon aftyer stopping the drugs.

I’ve been drinking more fruit juice and trying to exercise more. That’s all I can think of. No drugs. And as for pain…a few digestive and stress twinges here and there, but not in that location. Like I said, the exercise is new to me

SEE A DOCTOR!! You could have a serious kidney problem.

Acute renal failure, staghorn stone or acute glomerulonephritis to name but a few.

Go to an ER today.

Given that this could be a serious medical condition, you are well advised to seek input from actual medical professionals rather than a message board.
