I seem to have an extremely large bladder. I frequently go 8 hours or more without peeing, and then I let go with what feels like more than a liter at once.
Am I setting myself up for some kind of disastrous health problem? Kidney stones or bladder infections or something? Should I be trying to train myself to go more often?
I think Rysdad has it right: 8 hours is a heck of a long time to go without urination if you consume significant quantities of diuretics (e.g. caffeine, alcohol, Midol), but not a particularly long time if you’re running on a bowl of soup and a sip from the water fountain. I myself fall into the former category, being a soda junkey and a coffee fancier, but I’m trying to cut down since in my job I can’t really get up to go to the john every 45 minutes. In my pre-caffeine addict days I used to fly all the way from America to Europe (9 hours in the air plus some on the ground) without a visit to the lavatory (I hate airplane lavatories for some reason).
My GF goes the other way (wait…that came out wrong [wait…so did that])
She’s running off to the bathroom every 30 mins or so to pee… and she goes so fast that she has to count slowly to 10 before she comes out of the bathroom so that her friends don’t make fun of her and call her “speedy”
Weird, eh? And before anyone brings it up, no she doesn’t have any weird infections (I have personally inspected, but that’s a different topic), she’s always been like this…
BTW, I also often go 8, 9, 10 hours between trips to the john… big bladder, I guess…
You think one liter is a lot? - Did you grow up in house full of females?
Unless you are quaffing large quantities of liquids at one time most normal males can easily go 8+ hours without going if the liquid is consumed in smaller quanties over that time.
You’re perfectly normal (except for your little one liter bladder) Wizz away in peace mon frere!
