To dress or not to dress

Upon retiring my goal was to wear a t-shirt and shorts every day (year round). I have accomplished this. If I need to “dress up” I wear jeans and maybe a collared shirt.

Other than socks and underwear, I have bought only about 6 items of clothing since covid started. I go into an office for work, but what I wear isn’t important so I’m wearing out my old, knit workpants and tee shirts or sweatshirts. My old, nice blouses and sweaters are waiting for me feel like anyone cares what I look like. Not at this job they don’t.

I’m kind of a hermit these days. If I’m home, I do shower every day and brush teeth and floss and all that, but I go from my pyjamas (t-shirt, flannel bottoms) to leggings and other T-shirts, though I do add a bra. I nearly always have socks on because I’m a perpetual cold person. I’ll add a hoodie when necessary. The vast majority of my t-shirts and hoodies are band merchandise; I love going to concerts and own an inordinate amount of black t-shirts with skulls on them even though I don’t particularly look good in black, nor care much for the skull aesthetic. It pays the band beer/gas/food because the tickets and Spotify sure as hell don’t.

I have proper workwear, though I wear a limited amount of it when I go to customers because while I have to dress “business casual” I’m actually usually going to a stuffy, dusty, half-assembled aircraft on a production line with staff wearing jeans and T-shirts. I’ve got my “dressy” RW leggings and loose blouses that are basically business casual gymwear. No buttons, no zippers, no rings, nothing to damage the finish on anything.

I have, like, one pair of jeans that fit. I should probably buy more, but going back to the whole hermit thing; I never really go anywhere often enough where I need more pairs. I wear my clothes out before replacing, in an attempt to reduce waste, but I’m also exceptionally cheap and lazy.

Jeans and a t-shirt, tank top or sweatshirt depending on the weather. Occasionally sweats or leggings. I just can’t stay in pajamas all day, even when I’m sick.

Definitely comfy most of the time. Never really wear pajamas–just wear whatever I wore to bed–though I will sometimes change into clothes to wear around the house.

I know I’m a few days late on this follow-up.

I didn’t mean to sound like a nudist. More like a guy w a really fun GF.

When it’s just me I’m usually wearing some sort of pull-on gym shorts. Keeps me from sticking to the furniture and some even have a pocket although I don’t much need those around my small apartment.

And yoga sox; the stone tile floors are cool even if the room is warm.

Nothing wrong with being a nudist, it’s just not for me.

Yeah, this is me. The sweat pant’s don’t last long though. I usually go strait to jeans. Even before I shower. When I had my hip replaced I wear them for most of the day though. Jeans where to hard to put on for a while, and it was too cold for shorts.
