It just occured to me that your interactions with the general public must be a source of some irritation, as most people are not going to get what is going on when you don’t track with their unseen spoken words.

What is the pattern of interaction you have? I have the impression that sign is not your only method of communicating; am I right? What do you do to make it all as pleasant as possible?

Any way & every way of communication there is which fits the situation at the time.

Like say, pen & paper might be ideal but when surfing, the paper gets wet & the pen won’t write. As most surfers would rather surf then be in school, they don’t know how to write anyway, or sign, we usually make things up or I try to read lips.
