Well it’s Saturday night, and I am skint. Broke. Penniless - well, almost, since I found £3 in a coat pocket, the highlight of my day. Obviously going out is out of the question. And there’s nothing on telly. I have cleaned the house, made some long overdue phone calls, and now I’m facing the prospect of another weekend night stuck in front of my computer
So, what else is there to do on a night like this? I need your suggestions.
Please keep in mind they (a) cannot cost any money, and (b) cannot involve a lot of brainpower as I am going to use this occasion to finish off the bottle of Portuguese wine I’ve barely touched ('cause it’s nasty). If I get really desperate I might also finish off my Spanish liquer, but I’d like to avoid that since it’s really too good (and too difficult to get) to waste it on a night when I can’t afford any mixer for it.
BTW don’t you just hate it when you get paid every 30th of the month and it leaves you with one poverty stricken weekend before Monday 30th, here’s another who is broke until then.
casdave, I get paid every Friday. I can’t spend any money until next weekend, and even then I can only spend a little 'cause I’ve got a whopping credit card bill due (which, for the first time in years, I’m not going to be able to pay off) and the weekend after that is the last game of the season at Celtic Park and if I can’t afford to go to that I’ll kill myself.
The situation is indeed desperate.
