Good advice, and I try to follow it. I’ve been stressed lately, though; when I’ve misattributed, I’ve tried to catch myself and apologize.

This is a fair point. I’ve not talked much about my own moderating experience in re: these issues because 1) I don’t want to have even the obliquest board war risk, and 2) I don’t want to seem like I’m trying to speak from a position of authority. If I have a bias, however, I think you may have cause and effect mixed up: it’s because I have an “if you don’t like it, go somewhere you do like” attitude that I became a moderator, not vice versa. I’m a big believer in the host-of-a-party theory of messageboards.
Still, experience with analogous situations on another messageboard certainly may color my opinion of what’s going on here. I will say that the nastiness the mods here have to deal with exceeds almost everything the mods elsewhere gotta deal with. No way in fuck I’d be willing to be a mod here.

I havn’t been a moderator on a forum, but I have been a staffer on online roleplaying games. Mushes. I know how it goes. And I just wanted to be sure you were examining your own biases, because I know I get caught up in mine, sometimes.
(For example, I keep almost-attacking Bricker in another thread because what he’s saying reads to me like he’s lying or evading, when he’s actually just being especially precise.)
It is somewhat disconcerting to me to be reading a thread in the pit, one in which something or someone is being criticized and defended by various posters, and have someone come along and make a really nasty comment about one of the participants that clearly has nothing to do with what has transpired in that thread. I have seen that happen to LHoD several times recently, and I can understand his desire to attempt to deal with it here rather than simply ignore it. I think he might be better off ignoring, but I know that must be hard to do.
Daniel, I think you are an intelligent and thoughtful poster. I don’t always agree with you but I rarely think your full of it. Look, I’ve had some good exchanges with the OP in the past and some scumfuck ugly ones fairly recently. But I have to endorse what he is pitting here. I think it is extremely assholish to go stalk someone from thread to thread and continually resurrect old shit. If you have that much of a problem with someone, Pit them or move on and get a fucking life.

You know, it is possible that he’s being entirely honest and calling out the assholes. The fact that he’s getting more praise than criticism may be an important piece of information.
For what it’s worth, I generally think his posts are worth reading. I do not know what **scumpup **and **catsix **have against him, but they have provided me with valuable information (to wit, that both of them are worthless jerks).
LHoD, I think the King’s advice (as usual) is spot-on. The assholes are sniping at you, and it got to you. Don’t let them win, and don’t descend to their level.
And to **catsix **and scumpup, if you bother reading this: I will not miss you when you depart our company.
