My guess is that if the fan club were honorable enough to come post their gripes in here instead of polluting other threads, they wouldn’t be in the club in the first place. But maybe they’ll prove me wrong.

Now I am lost, what did Shodan do wrong? He was basically invited into a pit thread. His response was fair for the location.

AFAIK, and to his credit, **Shodan **is not a member of the most recent fan club. So he was not invited to bring the his declarations of hypocrisy. **Shodan **has his very own thread to hash out his particular criticism of LHoD. This thread wasn’t about that, so dragging it here repudiates the effectiveness of the whole “deal with it in a separate thead” idea.
I don’t have a problem with this, as long as it is clear who dragged it in.
I do have a problem with the notion of a self-Pitting where the OP wants to exclude a range of issues about the OP. If you are looking for affirmation, Daniel, I suggest you try it elsewhere than the Pit.
You did something similar in the other thread. It was supposedly started as a nice, rational discussion of my issues with your condemning others for doing what you were wont to do yourself. Then I didn’t back down. And you blew up and abandoned the thread.
You don’t get to cry “foul” because you can’t control the thread. You especially don’t get to cry “foul” if you start throwing my name around in a thread where I am perfectly willing to leave you to your issues with catsix or whoever.
So don’t start pitching unless you are willing to do some catching.

I posted in it for a long time, along with nearly everyone else who was trying to get you to understand a subtlety that you refused to understand. I eventually gave up on it, but if you ever show a willingness to see distinctions that (IIRC) everyone else in the thread could see, we can pick it up again. Go back there and pick up the issues, and I’ll rejoin you.

Unclebeer linked to a thread that I’d forgotten about. I reread it, and realized that I’d done this thing before, and that it had worked last time. I thought it had worked because you’d realized what an idiot you’d been about that issue, but apparently not; my ignorance on that issue is fought.

It seems clear to me that the point of bringing you into was simply to point to the effectiveness of that type of thread, not to debate its content.

**Shodan ** did not appear in this Pit thread until **LHoD ** referenced his name.
I don’t think **Shodan ** has done anything bad in showing up here. Once **Daniel ** started this pit thread (which I advised him he should close in the other thread) he is open to any abuse or praise that people care to give him.
I rarely agree politically with **Shodan ** but this is a unfair criticism of him.

Not entirely, I suppose. But when one guy makes almost 15% of the replies to his own damn topic, I’d say he’s got a significant amount of influence. Really man, the longer you perpetuate this thread without the participation of your targets, the more and more it begins to look self-aggrandizing.
Unclebeer, I’m not really interested in what it looks like to you, I’m sorry. I’m not in the habit of abandoning threads that I start, even if it leads to wacky theories about why I started them. If you don’t believe me about why I started this one, well, somehow I’ll move on.
(I’m asking folks to continue Shodan’s discussion in the other thread because there’s already been some detailed discussion there of his issues, and I’d rather not start from square one).

Except in this case, the damn thing would never have gotten off the ground had you not continued to respond to comments that have nothing to do with your subject. The topic of the thread was effectively abandoned by your targets who refused to participate. A thread which has died aborning, can’t be “abandoned” by it’s author. Without the particpation of your targets, this thing simply isn’t viable - except that your continued (and obsessive) postings are keeping it on life support.

I don’t understand why you don’t simply pit the people who are supposedly spewing venom at you. Pitting yourself in hopes of luring them into doing it here seems silly to me, given that as soon as they post here, it would almost (but not quite) legitimize your claim that people are obsessed with you.
Was my OP somehow unclear? I coulda sworn that was exactly what I was doing.
