"To Sir, With Love"

I was reminded once again last night why this is my favorite movie of all time. I arrived home just in time to catch the last 15 minutes on AMC.

I have seen this movie at least 50 times and I still cry at the end. When we got our first VCR, this was the very first movie I bought.

I am generally a 70’s rock type of girl (The Who, Queen, Pink Floyd). But when “To Sir With Love” comes on the radio nobody is allowed to speak until it’s over. I love it.

Sydney Portier is incredible in anything he does. (I will forgive him for the sequel, which sucked).

I first saw this movie when it was showed on TV in the early seventies. And while I don’t break down and cry when I see it now, that beautiful theme song instantly takes me back to those days. Hell, I even get chills (I’m getting them now) just thinking about the melody and the great lyrics.

“How do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume? it isn’t easy but I’ll try…”
:slight_smile: :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

Well, see, there I go again. Now I’m gonna have to go to Amazon or CDNow to try to find a snippet to listen to…

I love that movie.

::sigh::

I have not seen the movie (it’s on my list, but the list is very long), but I hear the song regularly. While it’s a neat song, it’s very difficult to sing along to because the phrasing is so odd.
