Sappy love songs you hate to admit you like

There’s been a couple of sappy 90’s love songs that refuse to leave my brain and I reluctantly must admit, I kinda like 'em:

“I Love You Always Forever” - Donna Lewis (where is SHE now?)

“You Were Meant For Me” - Jewel

Oh, the shame of it all…

“True” by Spandau Ballet

“We’ve Only Just Begun” by the Carpenters

“I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues” - Elton John.

Even when I was a spikey haired punk grrrl I loved this song, though I would never have admitted it back then.

“Mandy” - Barry Mantilow

Oh, the shame.

A few of Tracy Chapman’s bluesy longing tunes. I wouldn’t admit it publicly, though.

Peter Cetera’s “The Glory of Love.”

Lady by Styx.

I have a bunch of these … 70s/80s light rock is one of my favorite genres of music.

I second “Lady” and “Glory of Love”. Here are some of my personal favorites:

“If You Leave Me Know” by Chicago

“Baby Come Back” by Player

“Miracles” by Jefferson Starship

“Same Auld Lang Syne” by Dan Fogelberg

“Just Once” by Quincy Jones (vocals by James Ingram)

“Kiss You All Over” by Exile

“How Much I Feel” by Ambrosia

“Hearts” by Marty Balin

“Sweetheart” by Franke & the Knockouts

“A Little Bit More” by Doctor Hook

“Never Knew Love Like This Before” by Stephanie Mills

“Fooled Around and Fell in Love” by Elvin Bishop (lead vocals by Starship’s Mickey Thomas)

“You’re Still The One”
“Let’s Just Kiss and Say Goodbye”

By: um, no idea!

]“You’re Still The One” by Orleans

“Kiss and Say Goodbye” by the Manhattans

Both great calls.

Thank you!

Or not. Because now, armed with that information, I just might have to look up those songs and download them…no…no…

If you’re gonna look up the songs, let me correct myself – the title is actually “Still the One” by Orleans. No “you’re” in there.

You’re Still the One could be by Shania Twain too

Shania Who?

“I Honestly Love You” - Olivia-Newton John - so sorry.
“Feels Like the First Time” - Foreigner

Ok, I confess…

“The Search is Over” - Survivor

“More Than Words” - Extreme

I just called to say, I love you…

“This I Promise You”

I’m ashamed to admit that I like that 3 doors down song that’s on the radio now.

Hard to Say I’m Sorry by fucking Chicago. Kill me now.

If it counts, Here’s to the Night by Eve 6. It’s sappy, but I absolutely love it.
