My love is unconditional we knew it from the start
I see it in your eyes you can feel it from my heart
From here on after let’s stay the way we are right now
And share all the love and laughter that a lifetime will allow
I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I’ve got to give to make all your dreams come true
In all the world you’ll never find
A heart as true as mine…
And if along the way we find a day it starts to storm
You’ve got the promise of my love to keep you warm.
I agree that George was not appreciated as a song writer, and I also agree with “Something”. But it’s a close second to “Yesterday” followed by “Here There and Everywhere.”
I’ll second “Something” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” (see my post in the eloping thread for my marriage fantasy), and add “Your Song” by Elton John to the list.
Yay! Someone else who appreciates one of the best (and one of the currently most underappreciated) bands of the 60’s. But don’t forget “Coming Back to Me” or “Have You Seen the Stars Tonite?” (from the original Jefferson Starship lp) as great romantic songs.
OK, I am looking for a wedding song for my upcoming nuptuals. This thread has been very helpful, but I am leaning toward “At Last”, performed by Etta James.
At last
my love has come along
my lonely days over
and life is like a song
At last
the skies above are blue
well my heart was wrapped up in clover
the night I looked at you
I found a dream
that I could speak to
a dream that I could call my own
I found a thrill
to press my cheek to
a thrill that I have never known
well
You smile
you smile
oh and then the spell was cast
and here we are in heaven
for you are mine at last
(Repeat above)
ooo yea
you are mine
you are mine
at last
at last
at last
at last
