Very insightful … the more you rail on The Donald for being a misogynist … the more misogynists that will vote for him … and there’s a fuckload of misogynists in this country …
To the bed-wetting Hillary Clinton "supporters" in the Elections Forum... a moment of your time, pls
And the left-wing do what they do out of ignorance. One thing I’ve heard a lot of people say why they’re Democrats is how much they spend to help people. That has to be one of the most retarded things I’ve heard. It’s easy to be generous with other people’s (taxpayer’s) money. When was the last time a Dem politician pulled money out of THEIR pocket to help someone. But of course let’s not examine THAT argument to closely.
So the right is malicious and the left is ignorant - and we wonder why we have the government we do.
I’m pretty sure you don’t want to examine your argument too closely, since it’s trivially easy to find examples of Democratic politicians doing that constantly.
I hope I just got wooshed by the Wooshbot Excelsior 2000.
Act opportunistically.
For example, you can toss $10 to a CrowdPAC account whereby the funds will go to veteran’s organizations if Trump releases his taxes. Otherwise you owe nothing, baring snafus and scammy responses. Hrm.

I’m guessing that they will hit their goal. But it would be nice if they had 10,000 supporters since Trump likes to say that nobody cares if he releases his taxes.

That’s the spirit!
That’s the government’s job, to spend tax money usefully.
And it’s better than spending other people’s money malignantly and stupidly, like conservatives do.
I watched Tarzan.
Thank you. #1 (OP) was a refreshing positive message … but then it was all stupid defeatist sarcasm until we got to your post, #24.
Most of us get to pull the poll-booth lever one time. It sounds like JohnT’s opinion will be amplified and he’ll net Hillary at least a dozen votes, or probably many more. That’s what political activism and grass-roots democracy are all about.
If Hillary loses some of you will be saying “I did my duty; I pulled the lever one time.” Too bad more of us don’t follow JohnT’s example.
Because he’s attacking pretty much everyone here, talking about how he’s better than all of us. And he’s doing so entirely based on assumptions that have no real validity. His post is basically just bragging about how great he is and how everyone else sucks.
And this is me saying this.
Conservatives don’t spend the taxpayer’s money, they borrow it from China.
If you’re refreshed by John’s attitude, have I got a candidate for you!
Not enough to win the presidency.
Please promise you’ll come back and post in 2 months when Trump is defeated and all the racist bigoted misogynists have to take orders from a woman
This is sort of how I feel. If I knew ANY Trump supporters I might try to educate them, but I haven’t encountered any IRL. My mother and brother are lifelong Republicans, but they’re going to hold their noses and vote for Hillary. I can’t think of any real life friends that would consider vote for Trump. I do have a handful of hippie new age friends that have done one too many ayahuasca ceremonies and buy into all the Alex Jones crap, but I can’t seriously argue with someone that sincerely believes that HRC is a shape-shifting space alien - and even those people say they still won’t vote for Trump, they just aren’t going to vote for Hillary, either
Even all the older white blue collar workers that I know think Trump is a giant asshat.
Among my hundreds of Facebook friends there is one distant relative that is a reluctant Trump supporter, but she’s a big RNC person and was a delegate at the Republican convention. But I haven’t seen her IRL in 15 years and she’s not on Facebook much.
There are two other FB friends that I suspect might support Trump, one is this guy I worked with 30 years ago that now lives in Alabama, and another is this weird girl I met at a yoga retreat that thinks that Social Security was the worst thing that ever happened to this country and ObamaCare is a close second. But I don’t know either of them well and I unfollowed both of them a while back.
The SDMB is really my only contact with Trump supporters.
Rut roh … my governor is an openly bisexual woman … you don’t have to wait 2 months to ask me whatever it is you want to ask me …
You know, I don’t know about you, but despite the attitude of the OP, some of the posts I’ve seen in Elections of late made me sympathize with it before even reading it, based on the subject line alone.
AHHHHH Hilary’s down in a poll in Ohio! There is no way Hilary can win now, you myopic fools! Nate Silver is a moron and all is lost! Woe unto us! <sob>
It’s boastful, and that rankles a bit, but not as much as the defeatist handwringing he is complaining about.
And it also bothers me BTW that I am the only Hillary supporter I know IRL who sports a campaign sticker (that I got free from the website) on my vehicle. FFS, people: social proof matters. I’m sorry if Hillary isn’t as hip as Obama. Or if it’s because you’re afraid of Republicans saying shit to you or keying your car, maybe you need to grow a pair (of testes or ovaries, as the case may be).
Mostly it’s because I think bumper stickers are hideous eyesores.
Then I’m not talking about you (although you should just fucking suck it up and deal with it for two months and stop being a prissy baby about it). I’m talking about people who did sport Obama stickers.

Between the people who proclaim game changing events every three seconds and the people who breathlessly rush in to post headline after headline after inaccurate headline from some lousy news aggregator, our election threads are nearly useless.
I’ll guess many Dopers are in similar situation. It’s probably very hard to believe that almost half of Americans support the buffoon.
In my previous life most of my acquaintances were professionals in Northern California and had mostly reasonable ideas. Then I retired to rural Thailand where the tendency is to become friends with almost any Westerner who shows up. (In a strange way, therefore, I’ve had an exposure to Western culture I didn’t have in my sheltered NoCal life!) Most of the Europeans I met were anti-Semitic. One American’s contribution to any political debate was to brag that he lived in Texas where he could legally shoot a stranger in the back with only meager cause. There is one rather intelligent American who lives a half-hour away — he’s a Hyperlibertarian nut. :smack:
