What a peculiar thing to get one’s panties bunched about.
Why are you offended by lawn signs? What difference does it make? Are you worried that if enough people leave them up, someone may swoop in and say, "Hey, we may have underestimated McCain’s support, let’s vote again!?
RTFuckhead has continually taken offense to the fact that I am a Democrat and a conservative as well. He makes it his business to stick his nose into any politicalish thread I participate in to say so, in keeping with his imagined responsibilities as the ultimate arbitrator of party purity. Every time he does so he simply demonstrates his stunning ignorance of history, both nationally and even in Maryland aside from the inside the beltway crowd he hangs around the outskirts of and so desperately wishes to be a part of. He can almost become annoying with his yapping here on the boards, but when you meet him in real life you quickly realize that he’s personally so pathetic that pity is the only response that makes sense. He’s a sad little nebbish of a man with a fat little anti-social wife who doesn’t like him to go out and play with real people, when he does he is so socially retarded that he can’t talk to a female without his gaze locking in on her chest like a heat seeking missile to the sun. He’s a true internet tough guy, carping at people here is probably the only feeling of empowerment he has in his life. Ignore him.
Yes, Bush won in the judicial coup de tat of 2000. How proud y’all must have been.
ETA that yes I was pissed, and freaked the fuck out in 2000, and couldn’t understand why so few people seemed to be equally pissed and freaked out. I supported Gore, but would not have been any more pleased if the SC made him president. You know why? Because the Supreme Court doesn’t get to pick the fucking president!
I still have, and display, a “No on Initiative 695” button from almost ten years ago because I consider it symbolic of my having opposed the efforts of Tim "The Horse’s Ass" Eyman, and the products of his Hassle Factory, from the very beginning.
I just wonder what version of non-Dixiecrat ‘Democratic Party’ might be consistent with the positions you take, and (in this case) the candidates you support. A year would suffice, as in “the Democratic Party of 19xx is the Democratic Party I remember from when I was growing up, and that’s the Democratic Party I’d be proud to support if today’s Democratic Party were still like that.”
Most recent example, prior to this thread, please?
Your suggestion that I’ve been following you around is pathetic. I can’t remember commenting on a post of yours in several months. In fact, I can’t remember reading a post of yours in months.
But if it makes you feel better to construct your alternate reality, go right ahead.
Speaking as a liberal Democrat who voted for Obama, my response to the OP is mind your own fucking business. People are free to make their own signage rules for their own lawns. First Amendment and all that jazz, dontcha know. We actually believe in that.
However, those Christmas lights you’ve still got hanging on the porch from last winter - you might as well leave those now. But let’s try to get them down by President’s Day next year.
