I’d save them all up over the next few months until you have a nice big stack of them, then go into the offending club just as they open for the day (night) so it’s not crowded, throw them on the floor (making sure to scatter them widely so as to cause as much nuisance as possible), and say “Here! Thought you might want these back!”
I picture myself doing that, but instead of them flying all over the place, they all end up staying together in one lump and breaking a window, taking out a bunch of liquor bottles or hitting someone in the head. That kind of stuff never goes well for me.
Gather up some shiny flyers from the parking lot, go over to the offending bar, before it opens. Like when you’re coming in to go to work, for instance. Take a bucket of water, and soak them and stick them onto all the windows and doors.
I don’t know if you’re in the mood for removal suggestions, but you might try soaking the stuff on your windshield with WD-40 or Goof-Off (paint removal liquid, available at Lowe’s, paint stores and maybe Walmart) and then scraping it with a razor scraper. Another thing you might try, believe it or not, is a paste made of baking soda and water. It is the only stuff that will get cooked-on oil off the burners of our ceramic glass cooktop. A couple of caveats though: one, the paste should be fairly thick; and two, use a washcloth or something to scrub with, do a little at a time, and be prepared to use a lot of elbow grease.
I’d never do that. At least if I valued the paint job on my car. WD-40 will remove the polish, which is not good for the paint. And paint removal liquid spills on the hood? :smack:
Nah, depending upon how above the hood the the problem area is, you just apply it carefully and catch any liquid running down toward the hood with a washcloth or paper towel. Either that or put the Goof-Off or WD-40 on a washcloth or paper towel first and then apply as needed.
Good thing you brought that up though. I’m so used to using that stuff (and being careful accordingly) that I didn’t think to write cautionary instructions on how to use it.
I don’t know how they would measure that, or even if they’d bother. I’d be willing to bet that the total spent on flyering the cars way exceeds the income it generates. Of course they’d keep doing it. It seems like it might work, and it feels like doing something constructive.
As unattractive as Shin Ji’s tactic is it seems to have convinced local shopping center operators in my area to run off the advertising assholes from their parking lots. I guess they had enough problems cleaning up after the creeps to call the cops and threaten them with trespassing whenever they were spotted. Just last week I saw some Wall-mart employees going car to car removing a yellow flyer from each windshield.
Leaving flyers on windshields is technically littering in Philadelphia and you can be fined for it. MOst folks don’t know that or take the time to report it.
