Today I have...

Well, the morning was boring. Got up, checked e-mail, checked the boards, showered…things like that.

Around 2:30, I decided to head to campus. No, my class wasn’t until 5, but I needed to find the print shop and go to the campus computer store for Office, since I need PowerPoint and Access.

Got to campus, grabbed something to eat (after I realized that i had not eaten all day), and started searching for the print shop place. After an hour of walking in the heat (and absolutely dripping sweat), I found it, and learned that there was, in fact, nothing there for any of my classes. Ok, fine. Headed back toward the University center, stopping for a bottle of water (the third 20 ounce bottle of the afternoon). Made it there - that was only 20 minutes back, since I knew how to get back there…and I could have gotten to the print shop place much quicker, apparently. I bought what I needed and slowly wandered back outside to go to class.

Class was good - as it was the first day, we got out early, but it was really interesting. I think it will be fun, as long as I didn’t thoroughly disgust anyone dripping sweat the first 20 minutes trying to cool down. I used the men’s room at break. Well, the ladies’ room was full, and there were only 3 men in the class and 27 women…and I had to go!

Came home and changed out of the nasty sweaty clothes, and wandered, barefoot, towards the kitchen for more water. What’s this? The carpet is wet. Hmm…wonder what’s going on with that? And there’s pet food or something in my kitchen. Debate calling the apartment office, call, decide there’s not running water anywhere and decide it’s not an emergency. Then realize that maybe there’s water running into someone else’s apartment below me, and I don’t want that responsibility, so I call back, connect to the answering service and leave a message.

Get called back. Turns out, I got a new water heater this afternoon. Around 4:00, one of the neighbors noticed water outside my door and went to the office. Between the time I left at 2:30 and 4:00, my water heater had leaked all over the place. I didn’t even notice the wet carpet outside my door as I came in. It was only after I talked to the maintenance guy that I realized that my bra was on the capet in front of the bathroom. Oops. Guess they saw that.

Now I’m home, and thinking about dinner. Something quick, and cool. Tomorrow, I get to go to the library and work on stuff for class. And do the readings for the class I have on Monday, because they are posted online that they need to be done.
