For Example:
Won’t work for me using fully updated Firefox. I’m running NoScript and AdBlock, so I wonder if that has something to do with it. Regardless, I’m sick of Google and the fucking doodles and all of the other crap they clutter up their page with. All I want is a clean, useful search engine.
I do think they should have one day where the Google search page is mint green in honor of their obvious and pathetic Facebook envy.
Google seems to have taken a cue from Frannie Forwarder—from the occasional neat, commemorative Google Doodles to a steady stream of glurgey bullshit that I have no use for (they’re all over my lawn). When there’s an interesting interactive Doodle, there are plenty of places that fawn over them and I’ll seek one out on an alternate browser (e.g. I.E.). But for now, given Google’s proclivity to go all MySpace/Tripod with their pages, I’d like to find a way to get rid of it. Can Adblock help with this? Is there a way for NoScript to kill it without losing other functionality? White Out?
I could juuust tolerate having every obscure 178th birthday of such and such visual artist “celebrated” with some fucked up version of the Google logo, because at least it changed once and then stayed that way all day. But now, as I have Google as my home page for convenience, every time I open a new browser window I see a different fucking cartoon version of the Google logo based on one of the most moronic pieces of animation I’ve ever had the displeasure to view.
ETA I was a bit off in the previous post. Most threads about the doodles don’t have people getting bent out of shape about them, but there are people annoyed by them.
