And starting next year, we never mention my birthday again…(the dreaded zero is attached to the number).
So far, a nice day - got some calls from Germany, my SO bought me a few fun little gifts and after I finish work, we are going out to dinner and maybe playing a few video slot machines.
Having a birthday on July 15th was great as a kid - this is exactly when that new bike, or new skates/skateboard came in handy during the summer vacation from school. So, as my last officially acknowledged birthday has arrived, I wish one and all a happy day with me!
And,in typical German style where the birthday person traditionally buys YOU drinks, may I encourage you all to raise your glasses and toast the day - feel free to send me the bill for your drinks!*
*Didn’t say I would pay the bill, but feel free to send it to me.
Thanks! And sorry I couldn’t make it, but as I mentioned - mid-terms at school is worse than finals week! Spent Friday night at a school fashion show (quite good, actually) and Saturday in meetings (truly dreadful and boring and useless - but mandatory). Hope you guys had fun!
Ahem…didn’t mention my age…(and you are truly evil for doing so) and will refute that…I am turning, uh, 40 on my next birthday - yeah, 40…I just look old for my age - been a hard life. I’m 39 and sticking with that story.
Geez…you people are just nasty! Can’t you at least PRETEND next year’s dreaded zero is after a 4 or even a 5? And get off my lawn or I am calling the cops!
Thank you Siam Sam!
See people - was that so hard? A gentle, warm wish from the ever polite Asian community…granted, a slight tinge of sarcasm might have been implied, but still - ever so polite.
Yeah, well that ship has sailed. Get back to me when you figure out how to put Pandora back in her box.
But thanks for trying.
So - off to work!
Will come back and expect to see all kinds of wonderful wishes and requests how to send me money through PayPal!
