I don’t know why I find this image so pleasing.
[sup]Okay, I admit it-- I know exactly why.[/sup]

Word up. Stormtroopers rule.
“Hey, you there!”
That’s classic, and it’s now my wallpaper.
AWESOME!
What town was this? The Empire has invaded? Where’s Luke when you need him?!
Um, but isn’t he a little short for a Stormtrooper?
(Am I actually the first one to say this? Scores of total Star Wars geeks on this message board and little ol’ me the first one to say this?)
'Tis the lovely burough of Bellmawr, New Jersey.
The context is a Fourth of July parade, of which there are many more photos here.
My favourite is still Stormtrooper in Pleasantville, though. (‘Cuz I’m a geek with issues of bitter resentment over American hegemony. I’m workin’ on it.)
Predictably, my runners-up are Stormtrooper and Imperial Officer with Police Car, Patriots and Stormtroopers, and Imperial Navy Fashions Contrasted.
I don’t get it, (BIG surprise) but I just wanted to say…
HELLO, Larry!
And BIG hugs, too!
Who needs Luke? We all know that Imperial Stormtroopers couldn’t hit the Death Star if they were standing inside it. Just walk up to him and take the damn gun away
Maybe it’s the juxtaposition of the Uncle Sam wind sock and the Stormtrooper that makes the picture so surreal.
Boy howdy, Scotti!
What’s not to get? You gotcher Stormtrooper, you gotcher manicured lawn, you gotcher flowerboxes, you gotcher patriotically-themed meteorological crafts-project. It’s all there!
Now there’s a woman with cultivated tastes in late-seventies situation-comedies of the single-parent variety.
[sup]'member that time when he found the “uppers” in his daughters purse? The seventies were cool.[/sup]
