Hats off to the lady that got help.
Could you call for help with your toes?

Let’s give it a shot. For realism, I’m going to type out the bit with my laptop on the floor while I sit on the floor with my hands behind my back. Before I begin, I’ll have to kick off my shoes and get my socks off:
Help someone broke in and robbed my house. I’m tied up and typing with my feet. Send the police!
Damn…missed a comma. Well, in the interest of full disclosure, I have insanely long and dexterous pointer toes.
Note that she typed by holding the power tip of the AC adapter between her toes. So she didn’t actually type out the help message with her little piggy.
Wow… I don’t think I could do it with just my toes, but using a tool of some sort like she did, I think I could manage.
The lady in question did a demo for the camera and apologized for her toes, but I, for one, thought they were quite lovely. I guess talent counts for as much as looks where toes are concerned.
Reminds me of a boss I once had, back in the late 80s. The office got its first Mac, and he had never used a mouse before. He called Apple and complained that the foot pedal was hard to use.
I have heard that this has actually become an urban legend. This guy was the inspiration for more than one.
Every once in a while, I’ll drive the trackpad on my MacBook Pro with my feet. I do it when it’s sitting on the coffee table and the cat is in my lap (yes, he’s spoiled). Usually if I’m reading something (I can scroll, click to the next page, etc.) or if I see I got an email/IM that I want to look at. I’ve never actually tried typing (if I really need to type, the cat has to get down). I usually have the laptop sitting on one of these things, so the keyboard is angled up a little more than it would normally be.
