The US requested an English speaking rider in the stairs-truck. this is not some last minute change of events. Such things are worked out well in advance. President Obama ended up using the built in lower stairs that are unique to the plane to disembark. Considering the presidential support group carries a set of stairs for this use the Chinese claim lacks any basis of fact.

I’m married to a Chinese-American with family in China. I’ve been there numerous times, on business and pleasure. My wife was in Tiananmen Square when shit went down. I know a thousand times more about China than you do, you idiot. China has gone backwards in human rights and freedom in the last ten years, and the starting point was pretty horrible. Everyone knows this, no one is denying this.
