Tom Brady takes a break finally

wat.

OH, FFS. Did his family change opinions in his retirement plans? Why go out there to get injured? Or is that the plan to have him on the bench as a mentor to…?

Forgive my spitballing here, but this un-retirement seems really silly to me.

Did he collapse James Brown style and have someone dramatically revive him through the powers of fanning?

Oh man! He’s gonna turn into that kid who graduated two years ago but still hangs out at the high school.

He did take a break.

I’m glad he’s back!

I’m also glad he’s back. Why? I like watching high-quality football and he’s the best ever, even if he’s not playing for my team anymore.

Plus it’s a little fun watching Brady haters’ heads explode

It’s certainly not that. Brady forced the Pats to trade Garappolo because he refused to play with his replacement waiting in the wings. The only other QBs he’ll accept on his team are has-beens or never-weres.

Ooof…that’s gotta hurt:

Full title: Fan buys Tom Brady’s “last” touchdown football for $518,628 — then Brady unretires

I bet the buyer must feel . . . deflated.

Please, please, please, say you’re kidding.

As long as Brady doesn’t throw any more touchdowns, that guy is good. :+1:

If WWIII happens he’s a big winner.

He’ll have plenty of time for throwing around footballs worth half a million dollars… WHEN HE’S LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!

“I am 45 years old, I am thrice retired, and I live in a van down by the bay!”

I’m a big Brady fan, but I have to admit I find this hilarious. Investing in collectibles is always a game of hot potato - I assume he was going to hold onto it for 5 years until Brady got into the HoF and resell it then. Too bad for him the music stopped the instant he got the potato.

Yes, but the music hasn’t actually stopped until Brady goes out on the field and throws another touchdown pass. That said, I expect that very thing to happen quite early in the upcoming season.

The guy to be in this scenario is the one who sold the ball.

I mean, I have to assume that if you’ve got $500k kicking around to waste on a football, you’re probably not worrying too much about money.

And I thought Ben Roethlisberger was embarassing. Couldn’t he get a coaching, or executive type job, like other players have?

And of course, we got jokes:
