Tomorrow: last episode of Misfits (pre-last-episode spoilers)

Five series in, an entirely replacement cast, one year in-universe and we’re up to the last episode, which looks like it’s going to be a superhero gang-fight between the new ASBO Five and the Jumper Posse. The series so far has been very good and I’ll be sad to see the back of it.

Poor Mark.

I’m free! ::splorch::

I wish I hadn’t been drinking milk during that.

Good to see a recognition that the Jumper Posse had much better super powers, too.

I’m sorry to see it end, since it’s still consistently excellent. But it’s always better to leave people wanting more than to have them say things have gone on too long.

There are still a few other loose ends. In the previews, Jess is pushing a pram, and then there’s what happens to turtle boy.

And good news (maybe) – a movie is “written and ready to go.

Turtle Boy? Didn’t he get turned inside out last week? I might be a week behind.

You’re right. I forgot about that.

Well it’s all over now. What did you guys think?

To be honest, it didn’t really feel like a final episode, they could keep it going.

Other than some awkwardnes in the first few episodes of Season four, it’s been consistently good.

It didn’t there wasn’t any closure. With the exception of Jess getting pregnant and killing the baby’s father there wasn’t anything that would make an episode next week be different than any other.
Some ideas that I think that would have made for a better last episode…

Why not have Rudy 1 and Rudy 2 get together with their mum?
Why not have Rudy 1 be the father of Jess’s baby?
Kill off one more probation worker for old time’s sake!
How about another storm comes and sets everything back to normal?

What would you have liked to seen in the final episode?

I liked it, but you’re right that it really wasn’t a series ending. I also find it hard to think they could be real superheroes; only Finn has a power that’s useful. Plus what’s to keep them from following the path of the Jumper Gang?

I actually think it’d be a better ending if they ditched the orange jumpsuits at the end.

Well, Alex’s power transferal via rape is useful, but rather sickening

And logistically difficult. Especially since he can only go after one at a time and then be powerless for awhile.

With Alex in the last series and Alisha in the first two series, it’s alarming how “rape” seems to have become a go-to superpower.
