You go fight THE MAN[sup]TM[/sup] if you want to, but I prefer to deal with actual men - not archetypes. And when dealing with people, you forgive the idiosyncrasies.
Yeah, as long as the poor oppressed Christians are humored in their retarded beliefs … that’s what’s really important.
Where the hell did you get “poor and oppressed” from?
Fuck sakes. It’s hyperbole. Get over it.
I’m a suporter of gay marriage and gay rights, but Coach Dungy has his opinion as well. As for the OPs contention that his son killed himself because of being rejected by his father, there are countless people who have been rejected or shunned by their parents who have not made the decision to kill themselves, and clearly, not all suicides are the result of parental issues.
The OP obviously did not think before he posted, or is maybe a closet homo who was too busy gurgling his gay lovers love juice to spend time fact checking his contentions.
My problem with Tony Dungy being on TV is that he sucks as a broadcast personality.
A Christian might believe that, if they do that, they’ll be worshiping a false god and be condemned to everlasting torment.
You just have “Boss guy’s doing something I profoundly don’t like.”
And what irritaties a Christian is far more important than what irritates me? Why?
Let’s say your the boss you wouldn’t work for was offering you more money than other jobs. Would you work for him then? How much more would it take? 1%? 5%? 20% 100%?
You show me an employer who will offer me a 100% raise for praying with him, and I’ll let you know.
A person’s right not to practice religion is as valid as the right to practice a religion. The reasoning doesn’t matter.
After all, this hypothetical Christian cannot provide any evidence for his claim that he’ll burn in hell.
You made a statement that you wouldn’t work for a guy like Dungy. I’m simply asking if more money would sway you. And, if so, how much it would take? I’m sure someone in the NFL might go through the same calculation. But since you seem to have such a strong opinion on this, I thought I’d ask you. So, how much more would it take for you to work for a Dungy type employer/boss?
$14,762,186.12
… you can just make that out to “Cash” …
Nice number, but I’m a little short right now.
Seriously, how much more?
Why are you talking about mandatory? Or forced?
How the hell should I know? That’s a hypothetical that is never going to happen, where as my hypothetical (not that I’ll become a NFL QB, but someone with my views might) is entirely possible.
Huh? You can’t imagine an employer with Dungy’s style calling you up for a data-analyst position and determining how much it would take for you to go? Yeah, it’s a hypothetical, so what. I know you can think. Surely you can imagine. Here: Jessica Alba’s car breaks down. It’s raining, cold, she’s wet and freezing. Your hotel is the only thing for miles. You give her a ride, a hot shower, she’s tired, falls asleep in the robe, next to you. She wakes you up saying she’d like to show her appreciation for your kindness, she’ll do anything you want for two hours. (If your wife/girfriend/boyfriend are getting in your way, don’t worry. They left you 3 months ago and ran away with a salsa instructor.) Okay, GO!
See, even data-analysts can enter make-believe land. So, how much?
Ok, here in data-analyst land, my boss comes to me and says, “Jack, how much of a raise will it take for you to pray with me every morning.”
My response would be, “No thanks.” And then I’d go to HR with a complaint.
I’m not fucking around. I wouldn’t put up with that sort of shit in a professional environment.
Really? If he quadrupled your salary, you wouldn’t do it?
If this is the old, “we’ve already established that you’re a whore, now we’re just quibbling on the price,” gag … I ain’t falling for it.
Ha. I forgot about that one. Actually it was a serious question. I once turned down a job that offered me over 2.5 times my salary. I just couldn’t work on what they wanted me to work on. I wanted to see where your line was. The follow up was going to be if you were single vs married with kids. I was single at the time. But I think it would be much harder to say fuck you to a better paying job and feel good about it when you have a wife and kids depending on you.
