Well, David Kelly is missing and seems to have turned up dead.

Is it too early to start suspecting foul play?
You could wait until it is confirmed to be him.
You could wait until it is confirmed to be him.

Foster is a veb now?
Don’t make me come over there. I’ll fosterize you!
Nah.
I am sure that if it is actually his body regardless of any other facts there will be wack-jobs who will be talking about this for years. Blair had him killed because he knew too much about the black helicopters that control our thoughts in order to steal the oil from Iraq to power the nuclear spaceships that will do something or other.

“Kate, my father is a very important man, Just like a Senator or Governor.”
“Don’t be so naive. Senators and Governors don’t have people killed!”
“Kate, who’s the one being naive here?”
Sure, I recognize the patent irony in quoting a fictional work to try to sure up the belief that real life powerful people actually weild their power to get things done. And that sometimes their actions are less than moral in accomplishing their goals. But I don’t have to wear a tinfoil hat and believe the queers are in it with the aliens to build landing strips for gay martians just because I question the untimely death of someone that came forward with evidence discrediting some of the most powerful men in the world.
What’s interesting to me is that I can see partisans saying Foster was whacked because that was Clinton. But this is different. Or vice versa. I think both are rational speculations. And we’ll probably never know. But I’m a bit indignant at the suggestion that it makes me a conspiracy nutball to ponder the possibe connection.
Heck dec. I was thinking more along the lines of Babs Bush. Never did trust those buggy eyes.
And is “the Poker” your pet name for hubby Bill?
Simon - don’t you know that the BEST time for irresponsible rumormongering is BEFORE things get all cluttered up with facts. (Repeat and test!)
I just get a kick out of what I see as similarities between Bush and Clinton. And the refusal of partisans on either side to allow such things to change their minds. As a liberal, I far preferred Clinton over the alternatives, and maintained that his personal indiscretions and his misstatements about same had little to do with his ability to be president. Obviously, many Republicans did not share my view.
Now, I have always been opposed to Bush’s invasion of Iraq. And day by day it seems more and more like I called it correctly. Yet I have little expectation that any lies or half truths to justify the invasion will change the minds or votes of folk who voted for him in the last election.
Clinton lied about blow jobs. But he did so in a manner that allowed his lies to be categorized in a certain manner. Bush has - if not outright lied - at least twisted facts to advance his desired goal. But the ends will eventually justify the means, no?
I did not understand the efforts of folk to make Foster’s suicide as something other than simply what it was. So it strikes me as amusingly parallel that we are now apparently faced with another body.
Sure beats summer re-runs.
OK, time to set terms: What does the OP mean by Fosterizing? Is it like simonizing or One-Hour Martinizing? If so, perhaps the body could use some of that by now.
Vincent Foster. Clinton Attorney who potentially had all or many of the key answers to the Whitewater investigation. Found dead in his car in a Washington park by an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound IIRC. Fosterize would be to attribute the death to foul play by virtue of the deceased’s obvious connection and knowledge of a current high profile investigation.
Or maybe it’s a high pressure sprayer. I’ll let the OP clarify.
Nah, I’d say that Mr. Green had something to do with it. Not sure what, but it was something.
It’s reasonable to suspect a distinct possibiilty of foul play, if it turns out to be Kelly, and there’s every reason to suspect it will be – the body matches Kelly’s description, was wearing clothes like the ones Kelly is reported to have been wearing when he disappeared, and was found not far from Kelly’s home.
I never blamed the Repubs for speculating whether or not the Clintons had Foster murdered – it’s only reasonable, under the circumstances. What I hated was their bald-faced statement, long after the evidence was in, that it was murder and the Clintons did it.
Obviously, there were some people who were really PISSED at Kelly if he were the one who was responsible for the Nigerian uranium debacle – though I doubt that was the motive. The horse was already out on that one, no sense in closing the barn door after, as it were. The only major motivation I could see would be that maybe Kelly had – or someone feared that Kelly had – some further bit of testimony or documatation that would have proved to be a real problem for the Admin, given that the uranium lie has blown up so badly. So James Bond gets his license to kill activated (what, you didn’t think he was licensed to kill only bad guys like Blofeld do you?)
He might also have been killed by foreign agents seeking to discredit the Blair admin. Or it could be suicide.
Clearly, a thorough investigation is called for, but I hope I do not offend our friends across the pond when I point out that the Brits have a long and dismal career of whitewashing misconduct by the powerful when they conduct “official investigations.”
Be interesting to see how it plays out.
He was a biologist. I doubt that he had anything to do w/ uranium. I think he was just involved in general allegations that the Brits ahd “sexed up” their reports on Iraq.
How many times do you have to be told: A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush!!
Was there any indication at all he had more info to give? Sounds like he already spilled his beans, so there’s no reason to whack him. And plenty of political reasons not too. (Let alone minor moral quibbles of murder being wrong and such, but I don’t expect goverments and politicians to worry much about such trifles)
Not just Vince Foster - Don’t forget that the (extreme) right-wingers also blamed Clinton for the death of Ron Brown (in a plane crash in Africa) to shut HIM up.
AND…
Former White House intern Mary Caitrin Mahoney(shot in a robbery attempt); C. Victor Raiser, II - former National Finance Co-Chairman of Clinton for President (plane crash in Alaska); Paul Tully - DNC Political Director (heart attack); Ed Willey - Clinton fund raiser (Suicide); Herschel Friday - Clinton fund-raiser (Plane crash); Jerry Parks - former security team member for Governor Clinton (shot outside a Mexican Restaurant (unsolved)); John Wilson - chairman of the District of Columbia Council (suicide); Kathy Ferguson - former wife of Arkansas State Trooper Danny Ferguson (suicide); Bill Shelton - Arkansas state trooper and fiance of Kathy Ferguson (suicide - note that he shot himself at her grave, and was believe to have driven her to suicide with claims of infidelity)…
And the list goes on and on - for a total of 38 people that Clinton allegedly had killed. (see snopes for the full list, and a name by name debunking - Oh, there is also a list of people that the Bush family allegedly had killed - the site is called Bush Body Count , and covers Both Bush presidents and grandfather Prescott. this site was started as a parody of the Clinton list and just grew and grew. I’m sure that it is JUST as biased (and full of holes) as the right wing Clinton list
Yeah, you might be saying that that site is a bit biased.
Check out this piece of garbage he links to.
I demand that you pay for it instead of me since I like things the way they are.
I demand that if you want $10/hour you work for it like everyone else.
I demand to meet the person who would actually write a list this bizarre and stupid.
Absolutely amazing. All this time you liberals have been telling me that all the loonies were Republicans. Where have you been hiding this guy?
Minor nit: Ron Brown died in Croatia, not Africa.
Be careful, Brutus:
To the liberals an omission is the same as an admission. You didn’t deny the substance of the statement, therefore it must be true.
I’m sorry Airman, but the Snopes site lawoot cites, states clearly that Brown died in Croatia. Let’s give a typo the benefit of the doubt.
Also I’m pretty sure that lawoot claims (in all caps, no less) that the the anti-Bush site is biased.
If you’re looking to dog the liberals on this one, I think you’ll need find another kennel.
