Too... much... sushi... goodness!

So last night, we had a sushi party- you know, everybody brings their favorite kind of sushi fish, and we provide everything else. Everyone assembles their favorites, and we all share 'em out. As always seems to happen at these things, we had WAY too much fish, despite my emailed guidelines.

Yeah, we had a lot of leftovers, so we had it again for lunch.

We’ve still got enough for dinner tonight.

I never thought I could say it, but I’m growing tired of sushi. I ate so much at lunch that I don’t have the energy to go outside and enjoy the sun. I just can’t bring myself to throw the stuff out, though.

Is there any such thing as too much sushi? Sushi parties are loads of fun, especially when everyone’s had too much sake and starts concocting things like peanut butter-eel rolls. Ack!

We didn’t have a sushi party last night, but we did have an appetizer dinner party. Bruschetta, crab cakes (that were more like crab burgers), seared sesame-crusted tuna and salad. No leftovers!

I have never heard of this “sushi party” of which you speak. I am deeply intrigued.

However, I cannot for a moment believe there is such a thing as too much sushi. That is like saying there is too much goodness in the world!

Unless, of course, you live near me and wish to send the sushi goodness my way. Then you have definitely had too much sushi.

You could, dare I say it, cook it. Some sort of fish stir fry. Little sesame oil. Matbe some bean pods. Well it would be a change and would keep, so you can you’d eat a big slab of cow (or whatever you pleasure) before you go back to the fish.

Too much sushi? Impossible, I say!

I’m an assistant sushi chef. Rest assured, it’s possible.

Getting to that point sure was heavenly though

You do realize you’re all gonna die from mercury poisoning, right?

Sushi is wasted on me, I’m afraid. Our office used to be in a swankier part of town, and there was a 食べ放題 (all-you-can-eat) sushi place nearby. I never went once.

It’s impossible to have too much sushi.

That would be like having too many pork pies. Or too much steak and kidney pudding.

It might be just me, but the idea of eating leftover sushi sounds like a surefire way of taking an extended holiday in the smallest room in the house

Eh, none of the leftover sushi was raw. The raw stuff has to be completely fresh to enjoy it, anyway.

I couldn’t bring myself to eat sushi again last night. I think that’s the first time that’s happened. Of course, I could probably be convinced to eat some at lunch today (not my own stuff- I’d go out).

Sushi is good, and sushi-parties are even goodier

When we have sushi at our house, we invite lots of people and ask the to come early so that everyone gets to participate in the sushi-making. The best way to attract them to the kitchen is to leave some bottles of wine open on the kitchen table, and then show them how to roll the maki, and others so make the nigiri. And everyone gets to decide what to they want to use of ingredients. And all I have to do is stand by sipping wine and telling people what to do

yeah! what **athelas ** said. tis true, tis true! :stuck_out_tongue:
