Both the Egypt zones were not enjoyable. I guess if you really, really, really like sand they are fun. The parts that have you go down into ruins and explore aren’t so bad either. But anything in the desert is pretty monotonous.
I don’t know of many quests that are bugged at the moment. They’ve been pretty good about fixing bugs, and rebalanced combat recently (2020) in a way that (to me at least) was a massive improvement. I’ve really enjoyed the game more since then. My own Hammer/Blade build I run is a lot smoother.
On the other hand, they seem to have given up on new content. South Africa was added in 2018, which was to be followed by the Congo… And nothing was added since then. April of this year will be the 4-year anniversary since the last new area was added. That’s longer than the lifespan of some MMORPGs.
They do still have new missions added now and then, especially around holidays. The Valentine’s event (which should be coming back any day now, I believe) is relatively new. They added more to scenarios. But the story hasn’t advanced in forever. For the most part, the game is in eternal maintenance mode, which isn’t good for an MMO. Once you do everything there isn’t anything left to look forward to.
I’m doing the item grind still. Not all of my gear is maxed out yet, and I still can’t get into the top-tier raids and stuff, so I have reasons to play. But it’s a bummer that I finished the story a long time ago and there is no more of it to do.
Space Engineers: 2634
Cities Skylines: 2291
Oxygen Not Included: 1146
Which is not surprising as those games are like 8 years old (including early-access Beta). Plus they can kind of run in the background on autopilot while I multitask on other stuff.
Runners up are DayZ with 390 and Rimworld with 162.
After that I have a bunch of games I played a bit or not at all.
I looked through more of my library. One game which I know I played once for a few minutes (I downloaded it, it wasn’t very fun, and I never played again) says I have played for more than 12 hours. Clearly there is something wrong with the statistics of my Steam profile. So, I can probably just ignore whatever is in there, it is obviously wrong.
ETA: There is another game that I played for a few minutes and uninstalled because the graphics were horrible. I apparently have 6 achievements in it and 7 hours played. I’m now wondering if someone hacked my Steam account and has been playing my library. I do have “Steam Guard” so you’d think that would be difficult for someone to do.
Play time is the amount of time the app is opened for, not the time you actually spend playing it. If you pause for an hour, that’s still an hour play time.
Borderlands 2 3300
Fallout4 1402
Skyrim 1012 +Skyrim Special edition 260 = 1272
and if that doesn’t count
Borderlands the Pre-sequel 1052
Those numbers really aren’t very accurate for the Borderlands games. For whatever reason I found them very easy jump in-jump out while I was waiting for things to happen on that system, which was a server as well. So sometimes when I jumped out, it was days(occasionally weeks) before I jumped back in, but the game app was running the whole time.
The weird thing is there were a lot of games I thought I really liked, but when I went through the list just now, only had 50-75 hours. And these weren’t games I had on other platforms earlier. Hmm.
Crusader Kings 2 - 1,450 hours.
Grim Dawn - 1194
Skyrim (not counting special edition) - 688
There are a few more in the 500-600+ range. Off Steam I am sure I had a shit ton in the three Diablos, Titan Quest, the earlier Total War games (through Napoleon), the first CK and Europa Universalis I-III (never got into IV). Not to mention even older 4x games like Civ II (my first serious obsession) and the MoO series.
