Top 6@6 Supplemental-Post Your 6 Faves by Cowboy Junkies & Links to all 56 6@6 Polls

First: The Who’s, What’s, Where’s & Why’s of the Headliner Poll

In an attempt to squeeze as many bands in the shortest amount of time possible, The Monday 6 @ 6 Polls include a Headliner poll. This Cowboy Junkies poll, like the featured Concrete Blond thread will be closed and tallied 7 days from today, Monday December 23, 2002 at or about 6PM EDT, if I’m not out Christmas Shopping. Results from all polls will be posted a few minutes later on that same day in Week #36’s featured Sheryl Crow 6 @ 6 Poll.

Why you ask? After the ZZ Top poll, sometime this decade, the plan is to compile all the votes from the SDMB & post them in a few threads. Then I’ll burn a several volume CD set & mail ‘em out to the voters who helped keep these threads going.

Second: Links to the 56 artists we’ve already closed polling on

The pile just keeps on growing…

Derek & The Dominos § Cream § Eric Clapton § The Clash § Elvis Costello § Collective Soul § Alice Cooper § Cheap Trick § Captain Beefheart (& His Magic Band) § Nick Cave (& The Bad Seeds) § Leonard Cohen § The Cars (Benjamin Orr, Rick Ocasek) § Neko Case (& Her Boyfriends) / New Pornographers § Canned Heat § J J Cale § Johnny Cash (& The Tennessee Two) § Cab Calloway § Dave Clark Five § The Bonzo (Doo-Dah) Dog Band§ Cake§ Beck (Hanson) § Jimmy Buffett § Jeff Buckley § The Byrds § Buffalo Springfield § Bush § Kate Bush § Jackson Browne § James Brown § Better Than Ezra § Banarama § David Bowie / (Tin Machine) Boston § Bon Jovi § Blur § Belle & Sebastian§ Blue Öyster Cult § Blondie§ Blink 182§ Black Sabbath§ The Black Crowes§ Bjork / Sugarcubes§ B-52’s§ Chuck Berry§ Beastie Boys§ Jeff Beck§ The Band / Robbie Robertson§ The Beach Boys§ The Beatles§ The Animals§ Tori Amos § Alice In Chains § The Allman Brothers§ AC/DC § Abba& Aerosmith polls.

It only takes a minute to vote, and you can compare your faves with other dopers who voted next week

Third: The Poll & How it Works

It’s simple enough, post your 6 favorite songs by the artist. Personal observations, opinions, liner notes, comments and the like are always welcome but are in no means required. You May include Cover Versions and of course, duets. If you specify Live version, it will be noted, but tallied together with the studio version of the same title.

Fourth: This Weeks Headliner Poll Artist’s Discography

Here’s a reader digest list with sound clips & lyrics to Concrete Blond’s discography:
Whites off Earth Now!! The Trinity Session The Caution Horses Black-Eyed Man Pale Sun, Crescent Moon Lay It Down Miles from Our Home Waltz Across America Latent Open
For more info, Go to AMG’s website and type in the artist’s name on the search box.
The All Music Guide service is meant to refresh your “101 knowledge” of the artist. Please refrain from voting for tracks based solely on the 15 second sound clip. If you have the time, perhaps you’d like to add your 2 cents to their Music Expert Check

Anyone know where JohnBckWLD is? We haven’t had a new poll in a month.

Yeah, what’s happened? Any chance of an official SDMB expedition to search for him?

Is this a…QUEST that you speak of?

Quickly, we must form a party to return the one true poll to Cafe Society!

I will join this quest you speak of

It will be a long journey, with many perils along the way…We must keep close watch, for I hear there are moderator’s about.

Oh, and someone bring some CD’s…We need tunes.
