Top Chef - 11/15

Yippee

Double Elimination!!!

Marisa adios - bitch

You had shown yourself to be a bitch with very limited Top Chef potential

Josie - Too Bad

You had the partner of doom but on the other hand I can’t think of one dish you’ve prepared so far except for assisting with this last disaster. You may not have deserved the gallows tonight, but it was only a matter of time.

Also

I can’t fathom that 12 chefs barged blindly ahead without even attempting to look at what was available and then coordinate a menu that had some cohesiveness and flow.

Just.No.Excuse

Betty at least tried to get them to talk to each other (as far as we could tell from the editing.) But what the heck were some of those chefs thinking? I’ll have to admit, I don’t know what you would serve at a 6-course dinner, but some of those dishes were a trifle bizarre, especially considering they had the opportunity to plan the menu together!.

The right team got eliminated, though. They didn’t COOK anything!

According to Televsionwithoutpity, Sam did an interview that is somewhere on the suckfest that is Bravo TV’s website and said that, after they looked at the choices they had, all of the teams actually did have a 10-minute meeting together to coordinate their courses.

I don't know which is worse, the idea that they didn't try to coordinate everything or the idea that they did, and came up with the hodgepodge of stuff that they served.

At first I was a little perturbed that one bad day got these two kicked. But really, if I had gone to a new restaurant and was served pepto-bismol “soup” etc as fine food, I’d never go back.

How can these people send out food that they haven’t tasted?

It looks like Cliff, Sam and Ilan are getting consistently good edits and good reviews from the judges, especially Cliff. I’ve got them pegged for the top three, with Cliff as the front runner. He does a good job of staying above all the squabbling and cheating scandals while virtually always being near the top in every challenge, and has won some of them outright.

I wasn’t expecting much from Michael but I have to admit that paella looked damn tasty.

Wasn’t sorry to see Marisa go, was indifferent to Josie.

Beaming Betty is really starting to get on my nerves. She’s so endlessly delighted with herself. She bugs.

I was put off by the guest judge. She just seemed way too into the kidneys, and sweetbreads, and all that crap that I have never eaten and will never eat. I guess I have an unrefined palate.

You essentially took all the words out of my mouth.

The only thing I can add is that Josie seemed particularly adamant about how terrific she was when we haven’t really seen one iota of evidence that she stood out from the pack in any way.

We’re now down to 3 women, and I don’t see how any of them will make the final 3 (though I can possibly see Betty or Elia squeezing into the final four, though they still have to contend with Frank, Marcel & Carlos for that position).

I agree with Diogenes the Cynic’s prediction. However, I’m concerned about Cliff. There was a shot of him in the CAmp Glucose episode taking big swigs from a Pepto Bismol bottle.

Just a little more concerning the tasting menu…

On the TWOP board, it was posted that since Jennifer Coolidge doesn’t like lamb, beef or pork, she requested that they not be on the menu. Take it for what it’s worth, but it might explain why their tasting menu was so heavy on the seafood.

and Betty showed herself to be a bitch.

Who is Jennifer Coolidge, anyway? They all seemed so impressed, and I’ve never heard of her.

StG

Stiffler’s mom in the American Pie movies. Also a regular in the Chritopher Guest mocumentaries.

I’ve seen all the Christopher Guest movies. She’s not the one that always has the wierd lips, is she? I didn’t notice her lips on the TC ep.

StG

That’s her. She did look a little different on TC.
