What do you think of alternative domain extensions? There was a time when the Internet was just budding (1999?) when usage of a .cc or .biz or some other such extension typically implied a dubious website. Has that time passed? Can people use a .cc extension (especially for a business website) without being though of as just a hack. There are, after all, only so many pertinent .com names available.
I like the one that was .tv for tv shows but as you said, the net isn’t as hot as it used to be.
Cite? From everything I’ve heard or read, the number of intenet users continues to grow rapidly.
Q.E.D., I was kind of refering to the dot com fall…it was pretty hot back around '99 then it just kinda fell.
Would you view a company, books.cc or books.biz for example, any differently than if it was books.com?
I would. I’d be a little more wary of a commercial site using a country code TLD [with the exception of .uk] instead of .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, etc.
What gets me more though are companies that have @aol.com or @yahoo.com e-mail addresses. Especially if they have a website with using their own domain.
If you can’t get yourself together online I’d be suspicious of how you run other parts of your business?
This is what people had to say on the subject last year.
