Touchy legal issues on the job

In early 1969, when I was 19, the McDonalds where I worked (Manhattan Beach, CA) had suffered some thefts and management decided it was likely the work of an employee. They decided to have all of us employees take a lie-detector test; I couldn’t have cared less about it one way or another, but because of my age (18 did not become the age of majority until about 1970) the manager sent me home with a consent form for my stepfather and mother to sign.
My parents refused to sign it, telling me that the polygraph test was, to them, ‘a violation of my constitutional rights.’ I returned the unsigned form to the manager, explaining what my parents had said. I heard nothing further about the matter.
Post here some legal issue you have had to deal with where you do (or did) work.
