His grass might actually walk away…
When I tell people I am in Auburn, I often have to clarify I’m not talking about the university. And I’m in Washington, but not DC.
Further nitpick: Yakko didn’t wear a hat; Wakko did.
If you thought the MAGA alternative halftime show was bad, you missed the DHS alternative Puppy Bowl…
Goddam globalist. ![]()
Trust me, the aliens don’t care where you’re from.
Although some of them think the North Americans are a little too fatty and they prefer the taste of the leaner cuts available from other regions of the Earth. :eeek:
North Americans are well-marbled.
Bunny was listing all of the countries in North and South America in order from southern to northern. The idea that “The Americas” include all these countries is a bone of contention one often hears if you travel to them. Similar themes one might hear include that all of these countries matter (even if the US rarely thinks of them), and that they are distinct and quite different from another even if some view them as “all the same” or very similar.
Bunny was not remotely saying Canada was like the US. Almost the opposite - that each of these places is different with a common humanity and individual charms, and are not merely an America Light. In fact, one suspects many Canadians would agree with this idea. Of course, Canada and the US have historically had many similarities too.
I believe this to be true.^^
Nielsen has released ratings for the Super Bowl, and for the halftime show.
Across all U.S. platforms, the game averaged 124.9 million viewers. Bad Bunny’s show averaged 128.2 million, or something on the order of 25 times the viewership of TPUSA’s show.
25 times the purported viewership of TPUSA’s show. The two audience counting methodologies are not comparable. I strongly suspect that TPUSA’s reported number is biased upwards (as, apparently does Candace Owens).
I knew it would help when I watched it. ![]()
I can’t believe more people didn’t tune in to watch the animatronic pair of bumper nuts lipsync Kid Rock songs.
Creed already withdrew from a “patriotic” Kid Rock tour scheduled for later this year.
Is that usual, that the halftime show got more viewers than the game itself?
Not as far as I know. It does indicate that some people who weren’t watching the game as a whole specifically tuned in for the halftime show, very likely due to the controversy which Trump and his allies spun onto it – either out of curiosity, or out of a desire to support Bad Bunny and liberal causes while defying Trump.
I’m sure there were some hate watchers.
But you know what they say about publicity…
I quite enjoyed the show and I did not watch the Super Bowl. I’ve always had a hard time understanding Puerto Rican accents, even though I once worked at a nonprofit that served Puerto Ricans. But anyway you didn’t really need to understand it to understand it. It was really beautiful and positive and an absolute middle finger to the Trump administration.
I haven’t listened to PR music since Calle 13 but I may have to bust out some Bad Bunny sometime. It was an interesting combination of modern and classic.
If you want both Calle 13 (or at least Residente) and Bad Bunny you can listen to afilando los cuchillos which was a protest song they made with iLe protesting the then Governor of Puerto Rico. They also collaborated on at least one other song.

Now there’s a line I never thought I’d see in print.
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
