That’s not the entire comment of course. Everything has a context. Specifically his was "“Gay is something that kids learn from the media and programming” and that his son “better talk to me like a man and not in a gay voice or I’ll pull out a knife and stab that little nigger to death.”

I can take a joke as well as anybody, but considering the bullying and suicide problems of young gay kids, those “jokes” are reprehensible. And I’m sure his so-called “apology” is meaningless.

And many people in the audience are equally at fault.

Personally I hope this costs him his job with 30 Rock.

I should note I say this less from being offended as a gay man than from somebody who thinks 30 Rock has gone from being funny to being the ho-hum show about a bunch of wacky zany crazies that pads out the hour with Community and Tracy is the weakest link and the easiest to get rid of. Let his wife (Sherri Shepard) take his role and retain Grizz and DotCom who are funnier anyway. All Tracy Morgan does on this show is the same thing he did on SNL which is be loud and annoying and punch the hell out of the last word on every single sentence he utters.

Or just cancel it. Without something to shake things up (and I don’t mean Liz having a baby- babies are done to death on sitcoms) there’s really nothing to drive it. Baldwin and Tina Fey won’t hurt for work, Jane Krakowski (whose talents are largely wasted on the show) can go back to Broadway, Morgan can go somewhere, and Jack MacBrayer- well, he was good as Kenneth but how long can you milk hillbilly from deranged Southern Gothic town? If he doesn’t get work surely he’s save some money and can go back to Georgia.

I don’t know who this person is, but I’ve heard that the black community is harsher towards gay blacks. Something about ‘handicapping yourself twice’ in a white man’s world. It’s similar to Latinos and gay men: black men are supposed to be tough stuff and Latinos are supposed to be macho.
