There’s a three-way stop up the street that just got a traffic light… anyway there’s a house where if a house wasn’t there and in place of it were a road it would be a four way stop. But anyway this house has a traffic light facing directly towards it’s driveway and I was just wandering is this legal? Can anybody just get a traffic light towards there driveway if there’s a lot of traffic passing on their road?
Is it a three light traffic light, i.e. does it have an amber light? I’ve seen intersections like that and usually the direction which doesn’t have through traffic coming from it (the side with the driveway) gets a smaller light that is just two lights (red and green).
It’s not like you are going to be speeding out of your driveway and need a warning.
And yes, I’ve seen a few of these. I imagine that it’s a matter of either: 1) traffic volume or 2) being related to the mayor.
FWIW There is a light similar to that here in Toledo. It’s on Jackman road. Where the house would sit in the above layout is a TV repair place. The killer of this is that there are walk lights there. My Questioni is. If I walk against the light across the driveway and get hit by a car coming out of the shop, Who’s going to look guilty ?
