Training Day (spoilers)

I think the moral was simply this: you should pay your bills on time.

p.s. For those of you who saw it on DVD and saw the extra scenes: do all movies look so awful before they do post production cleanup?

Yes.

Odd, isn’t it?

One thing i found out about movie cleanup that never crossed my mind was that the sky in each frame has to be changed because obviously, the time of day that each scene was shot will not correspond with the exact time of day in the movie.

Where are the spoilers?

If the movie is actually being discussed: wow, this ended up being pretty craptacular. Early on it seems like they might challenge the audience to look at shades of grey, but in the end they just make Washington the bad guy in a fairly tepid thriller. The situations become so ridiculous by the end of the movie that it destroys any chance it might’ve had at offering some insight into the real world. The best part was character actor Raymond Cruz: “I’ve had my shit pushed in, BIG TIME! BRAAAAGGGHHH!” Hilarious.

Ok, maybe I was overcautious. I guess I thought someone might read about paying bills on time and then go watch the movie and it wouldn’t be the same as a cold viewing.

Sort of like how an off-hand comment by Howard Stern about “The Sixth Sense” spoiled the twist at the end for me.
