Backstory: The helpdesk I work at has recently come under new management, directly in the IT tech apartment instead of the go-between IT employee who was head of the helpdesk we had before. Old boss was at the desk daily and had control of who was at work and when, using our internal iCal calendar as reference when he needed to.
New boss doesn’t have the time to swing over and check daily, or can at least not proof us when we say we came by at such-and-such hour and worked until then-or-then. This is mostly due to the helpdesk being at a school and all the employees being students here, so we have a very flexible schedule and rescheduling, often working up to or after lectures or having breaks in the day to hand in papers, and so on. New boss trusts us, but wants some info.
So new boss wants a projected shift list on monday and an “actual” shift list as the last thing done on friday. Since the info is already there in our iCal, no problem, right? Just dump an export of the calendar, e-mail and there you go. But boss-man is on a PC, using outlook.
So:
Question: How can I dump calendar information (Name, appointment time from-to and date) from iCal in a format that’s readable in Outlook, Excel or something he’d have access to on a Office computer?
We’d both prefer to avoid running a synch client, if possible. Comprehensive spreadsheets would be fine - great, even - but the best would be a 1:1 calendar transfer between iCal and Outlook.
Suggestions?
