Over on a Christian board that I belong to ( www.christianforums.com ), I’m involved in a thread started by an 17-year-old Christian who is MTF transgendered – she uses Sarah as a screen name though still biomale.
And of course she doesn’t have useful resources, support, and so on – and has been getting some truly lousy advice from people mistaking transgenderism for transvestism or homosexuality (along with some passable advice from a few of use who do understand, more or less).
I know that Eve and KellyM don’t have their e-mail addresses listed. But I offered to put her in touch with a couple of you folks. So anyone who is (a) transgendered – ideally MTF, but either way and (b) is willing to exchange e-mails with this kid, presumably to give her support and guidance in dealing with what she’s up against, I’d appreciate it if you’d e-mail me and give me your e-mail address and consent. Mine is in my profile, but to save you the trouble of looking it up without allowing spambot e-mail harvesters to get it, it’s my username here plus the digits 1948 at hot mail dot com.
Thanks for any help or advice you may be willing to give her.

Polycarp, just when it seems you couldn’t get any more freakin’ amazing, you go and do something like this. My hat is off to you, sir. I wish I could help this young woman out in some way, but all I can do is wish you the best in your efforts to help her.
Oh, let me add that—as she is young and religious—I will be very circumspect in what I say to her. If she asks, I will tell her that I cannot and will not comment on any religious aspects of the subject.
I’ve sent her Eve’s e-mail address, the Jean Harlow book interview as an introduction to Eve, and a link to this thread, which will in turn give her all the links you guys have so graciously provided. She thanked me for them and said she’d be e-mailing Eve. And my thanks to the divine Ms. Golden in particular and all of you in general.
I can be emailed through the Boards; at least, I have the option selected to allow other members of the Boards to mail me, and I have gotten quite a bit of mail from other members of the Boards over the past few years.
I have some friends who would be better candidates than myself for this sort of thing. I’m 35, and don’t know if I can relate that well to a 17-year-old. However, I have plenty of trans friends who are in their late teens or early twenties who would be better candidates. I’m sure someone out there can help.
