translate this Colombian punk song for me please!

The band is called I.R.A. (“Ideas de Revolución Adolescente”)

I’ve never heard a Colombian punk band before, I think they’re awesome!
“Sepultado.”

Thanks!

I sent you a PM. I don’t want to would violate the SDMB’s policy against posting lyrics (potential copyright infringement issues).

They’ve toured the states a couple of times, but not since 2007, I think.

Here’s their myspace page.

They’ve been around for like 25 years now, but only have 3 albums that I know of.

They are a true punk band, IMO. They write songs about the society they live in and the lives of the people they know and encounter in their day-to-day life, as well about the politics of their country: the band name translates as “Ideas of Adolescent Revolution”.

Sepultado is, I think, about a friend who committed suicide and how they hope he is free from his torments now. I could be wrong about the suicide part; he may have just died an untimely death. I don’t speak Spanish, so I’m just guessing from the handful of words I do know (like I know that “sepultado” means “buried” because I know that “Sepultura” means “grave”).

Wow, thanks, both of you! I have spent the time intervening investigating numerous Colombian punk bands, and I must say:

a) I had no idea! and,

b) them guys got miles of heart! This must be where all the SF Bay Area punks’ sincerity went, cause there sure isn’t much around here.

P.S.: Check out “La Punkera de Mi Barrio.” ("The Punk Chick of my Neighborhood.) Woo hoo! Punkera! That’s me!

There’s a shitload of great music being made outside of the US/UK. India has a fucking smoking metal scene, for instance.

If you just want to stick south of our borders, tho, check out Hellbenders and Black Drawing Chalks and Dead Fish. They’re all from Brazil.

Colombia isn’t a one-band-country, either. Los Suziox are punk as fuck. Witchtrap are an awesome thrash band. Legacy is another killer thrash band.

Pick a country; nowadays I can name at least 1 band from damn near anywhere that totally fucking rock.

Even from tiny little places like Gibraltar (Breed 77) and Tunisia (Myrath) have awesome bands.
