Would any Finnish speaking Dopers mind translating the text of this screenshot? Thanks in advance.

Thread title: In memory of RC

In memory of RC this forum will be closed for a week starting on monday morning at…to monday morning.

Although many people may hate my idea of having a memorial together…like gathering in something like 6 months from now…was one of our friends and we knew him, chatting on the IRC and emailing too…

…for the first time I don’t know what to write…this thing has shut me up completely…

Oh yeah, look at RC:s motto… from the Killuminati…

oh hell, so it was rc after all… <frownies> but WHAT THE HELL FOR?

Some boards I won’t mention have lots of posts about RC and this board…to take this down completely for a week or two. Or some of it anyway. Whether RC did or not.

Are the police aware of this??

And the text under the screen capture: The posters on this chemistry related message board suspected that Petri Erkki Tapio Gerdt, the Myyrmanni bomber, was one of regular posters on the board. The board, where posters are identified only by their nicknames, was removed from the internet on Sunday afternoon.

And now it’s a few days later and it seems that the poster rc on that board really was Petri Gerdt, the young man who figured it would be a splendid idea to make a pipe bomb, walk into a crowded mall and detonate it. Thereby killing himself, 6 other people and giving permanent injuries to dozens of others.

If someone wants to follow the story there’s the English version of www.helsinki-hs.net/]Helsingin Sanomat, where the original link was from.

Oops, messed up the link to Helsingin Sanomat.

Let’s see if that works.

Much thanks, GCU. Just curious, are you a native speaker?

No problem. And yes I am. A good thing too, since Finnish is too hard a language to learn any other way than the tradtional ‘be a Finnish baby and grow up in Finland’ method. For me at least it would be. Too many suffixes and forms and declinations etc.

This is a related thread that provides links to news about the bombing.
The bombing had an impact in the USA too, as an explosives and firearms board that RC/Gerdt wrote has now been closed (or at least moved to another location).
