Back home relaxing. We went out on the boat, and while the river was lovely, the bay was rough. We were crashing thru waves so that everyone on the bow got soaked and even those of us in the pilot house got sprayed. It was so rough that one BIL lost his breakfast. His own fault for eating so much, IMHO…
When we got back, we changed and hopped into the marina pool. About 10 minutes later, it thundered and the pool tender made us get out. So we came home. I’m doing a little laundry and the others are watching TV. Tomorrow, they all head out about 6AM, and we’ll get back in to our boring old routine, sorta.
I got an email from the esteemed Doper, Cartooniverse, and he’s going to be in the area doing some training or some such for the next few days. We’re going to try to meet up one evening. I’m very excited! Another Doper notch on my, um, Doper notch board.
Went to brunch and had a lovely time. It even cooled off and was a bit breezy while we were there. Then there was 2 hours or so of work. And then I decided it was time to go shopping. Every time I open my closet door I see clothes that I don’t want to wear, so I was hoping to find something I liked. I especially need new pants for work. Went to Kohl’s and to Filene’s Basement and found…zippo. Nada. Not a single pair that I liked and/or that fit me. Also found 3 blazers that I liked, but fit horribly.
Then I thought I’d look for shoes, since my work shoes all look pretty darn worn. I actually found 4 not-horrible pairs that are comfortable AND cute. Only had to try on about 20 pairs…
Oh, and earrings, found four pairs of nice earrings.
Well, we have returned from our camping expedition and it was AWESOME!!
The lake was smooth as glass, and if one area got a little rough, we would cruise a little further down the lake and find a nice smooth cove again. Temps were very pleasant, if not a bit overly warm.
Our campsite had it’s own little lagoon or cove so we could tie the boat right up at our campsite. Then we could just hop in the boat whenever we felt like it.
The resort had a little store, restaurant, cantina, game room, putt putt golf, and people could rent all sorts of toys for the water: jet skis, Sea-Doos, wake boards, water skis, up to and including ski boats.
They also had a fantastic blues band playing at the cantina last night. Hubby and I went down and listened for awhile. My goodness, they were really, really, really good. If you ever get to hear a band called the Fat Tones, go listen! Their style is sorta Stevie Ray Vaughn, but their own music is really good! They also played some Stevie Ray Vaughn music, along with a Hendrix song. The guitarist just blew us out of the water with his playing.
Well, I need to finish unpacking and the hubby wants some dinner. I have no idea what I’m going to make.
I’m glad the camping went well, Taters. Sounds like everyone had an acceptable Saturday. Mine was good except for work and Quasi-Daughter phoning at 8:45 this morning to tell me she would phone back when she had my morning planned for me. Grr. Didn’t get to bed until after two, and being woken up makes an unhappy Lissla. More than a year of working evenings has made me unatterably lazy.
We sold almost 600 copies of Harry Potter last night and today. We are a small store. This is crazy.
Time to relax, and then make sammiches for Mr. Lissar, and then go to bed.
My house is quiet. And empty. The inlaws and their dog are on the road south. My sweetie went back to bed. My dog and cat are crashed, no longer in fear of the Cairn Terror. I’m washing guest bed sheets and surfing and just enjoying the quiet.
It was a nice visit, but it’s nicer to be back to our normal life, such as it is.
Well, given the choices at the stores I went to, it may come to that.
Although, I think my employer might object. We have a dress code and all. And I’m pretty sure it includes wearing more than shoes and earrings.
Thank you for the opportunity to fall off my chair with laughter. I needed that.
I’m starting laundry and sorting out things that are going to charity. (Note to self: leave more than just shoes and earrings.) Had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Made poor choice and ate in living room. One of the blueberries exploded, so I managed to spatter both the sofa and the jammies. Fortunately the sofa is a futon with a washable cover. Guess what’s in the washer right now?
Off to church after a while, then to a friend’s to meet up for a garden tour. Then back home for more laundry and general cleanup. And maybe some work in my own garden. I seem to be avoiding that this summer.
Gray days make me sleepy. It’s gray and hot here. I want to go back to bed, but I should stay up, clean out the fridge, and get ready for work. First I will have four or five pots of tea, so as to be buzzed on caffeine.
So all these Harry Potter books are really about knitting? Dang, makes me glad I never read any of 'em. How boring!
ACBG is back at his place. I’m all by myself. That’s ok cause I am the host of the weekly Scavenger Hunt over at Skip’s Magic Board. Notice I did not link to any of that. If you are a member you can go look under “A Bit Gamey.” If you are not a member, then google Skip’s Magic Board, join up and join in. It’s fun. Really. It’s a Jawja themed hunt this week.
Hey, everybody. I’m putting this here because I don’t want to put a big downer on tomorrow’s MMP. Remember I was gonna go to the beach this week? Well, I’m not because my dear, sweet, darling Mr. Anachi had a massive coronary heart attack yesterday afternoon. To make a long story short, we got him to the ER in time for a heart catherization that saved his life. I’m pretty much like a wet noodle right now. I’m hopin’ my cyber friends will read this tonite and send some good vibes his way. He’s doing really good…facing the whole thing like a real trooper. Prognosis is good but FUCK that really SUCKED!
Dang Puggy! Prayers, good luck, good vibes, whatever he needs are headed Mr. Anachi’sway from south Jawja. Please let us know how things go and please take care of yourself too. I’m worried big time for the both of ya!
Oh my gosh Puggy, how awful for you both. But wonderful that you were able to get Mr. Anachi to the ER in time. Hugs, prayers and good thoughts for the two of you!!! Keep us updated on his progress.
