Trauma and Drama in Puppyland

Draelin: don’t fake appendecitis! We might have to give you a balloonectomy!

swampbear: 1) Yes, I’d love it if you’d put some salad in the bushes.
2) You can’t just come in here and tell us that you have cute repairmen. We want pictures, dammit!
3) Your birthday’s coming up? I’ve got the perfect present.

I got conned into making pancakes for the chaoticsiblings… my mom had to go into work this morning, and since I don’t have to work until 3:30… It’s ok, though, because my pancakes make her look like a l4z0r! She’s teh pankaken00b.

You know, last night, when I was talking about TMI things, I meant to include my sig, but forgot. Here you go, guys

And I tossed a pancake out into the yard for any errant dogs or bears or whatever. Syrup is inside, though.

Groooowwwwlll, why can’t we edit our posts!? (I know why, don’t answer that.)

Will they give me a lollipop when it’s over? And would I get to stay home tomorrow, too? 'Cause I might be down with that.

Balloonectomy. Is that performed by clowns?

The Blanket Test only tells you if your dog wants out from under the blanket DogMom. Not how smart (or plain stupid) your dog is.

The big outside game for Lucy is to run up and down the fenceline while she barks at the neighbor dog (he’s a Beagle) and he runs up and down the fenceline barking at her. It’s a privacy fence, so they only see little flashes of each other as they run.

Brody doesn’t get it.

Lucy’s running, so he runs too. Only he’s still little and slow so he gets left behind. Which isn’t too bad except he’s only halfway down the fence at the turnaround. Which means he gets run over by Lucy as she’s trucking up the other way. After he picks himself back up and shakes his head a little, he’s back to running. He doesn’t know why he’s running, but Lucy’s doing it, so it must be fun. (Although he doesn’t have the same thought for the wading pool. Lucy loves to jump in and out of the pool playing with the boys. Brody thinks water is evil and wants no part of it.)

What are your Heat Pump Guys doing Swampy? Just changing out the inside thingy? It took two days for my Heat Pump Guys to be done. But there was only the two of them and they changed out the inside thingy and the outside thingy. (One of the thingies is called a “condenser”. I’m pretty sure it is anyway.) Our ducts were good to use though. So there was that.

Rue it’s the inside and the outside thingy, cause it’s bigger. They still say they’ll be through today. Note that time of completion has been changed from noon to “today.” Whatever they do, later this afternoon I have to mow. My grass is waaaaaaay high due to all the rain. Super duper fertilizer plus lots of rain equals fast growing grass. It’s a real purty green color, so there is that. Maybe I’ll go start weed eating in a bit.

chaoticdonkey if you were hiding in the bushes like usual you’d be seeing the cute heat pump installers. You’d be practically right beside em. You could offer em water and snacks. That’d be the nice thing to do.

And today’s Short-Skirt-Alert-Level is:

Red - Short. Very Short. Goes-straight-to-donation-box-right-after-washing short.

I am very glad no one has been walking up the stairs behind me today.

As for the heat - bring it on! I’m always cold, so every once in a while it’s nice to feel warm.

I’m going to see Willy Wonka this weekend. The movie, you dorks, not the man. Although that would be kinda fun.

I will be waiting until my vacation to read Harry Potter - I know when I get there, there will be several copies of the book hanging around.

Why is it that all jobs are either way WAY too busy (I have a couple friends in this situation with 50-60 or more hour work weeks) or way too slow (I’m on this end)? Why can’t a job fill the hours one is at work (well with some time left over for the Dope!) and then that’s it?? I’m always just SOOOO bored at work. And me + bored is a Bad Thing. I do stupid things and get into trouble.

Yeah, we’re kinda out of work to do too. Seems when summer rolls in, all the military commands around here stop spending money on parts and repairs, and instead spend it on picnics and trips to King’s Dominion. So I sit around fielding business from the 10% of our customers that aren’t working on ships. I can usually get whatever information or quote they need in just a couple of minutes with that crowd, so I’s gots lots of time.

But I’m getting another raise (I’ve been here over a year now), and I just became eligible for the company’s 401(k) plan (they match my contribution 100% up to 4% of my salary, and it’s a fully vested plan from my first contribution on), so I feel compelled to be the responsible worker and sit here in the FactoCube, waiting for faxes, emails, and phone calls that may never come. And I listen to a couple of the guys flirt with the kinda cute yet even-more-kinda-dense RedHairedGirl we hired a couple of months ago. She doesn’t understand that she’s getting hit on. Sometimes its amusing, other times it just bugs the snot out of me.

I keep hearing you guys talk about doing stuff around your homes, and I miss that. I lost my house in The Divorce a couple-three years ago, and have been renting ever since. I miss having a lawn to mow, or a A/C unit to replace, and such. Hopefully we (GF and I) will be getting her house from her divorce before August is gone. (That’s how we get houses around here anymore. If you can’t afford to buy one, you just divorce someone and try to get it then.)

And VunderBob, have you seen the new girl reporter on Channel 13? She looks like the girl who used to be Monk’s assistant. On that TV show, what is it called?

You mean the blond reporterette? She’s cute, but I’m still in lust with Julie the WeatherBabe.

There’s a storm in my heart for the weather girl,
There’s a storm in my heart for the weather girl,
On Channel 13!

Guys, I’m officially insane. Those three posts above, every one of them I tried to put my signature on, even though I only checked the box on the last one. But darn it, it still didn’t show up. I’ll preview and preview until I get it right this time.

Oh well, there’s always next time! :stuck_out_tongue:

Gaaah! I previewed, it showed up. I went to hit submit, and it didn’t. What’s worse is the fact that first try here it showed up. All I wanted to do was show that I had already won the TMI award. cry

And no, Draelin you don’t get a lollipop after a balloonectomy. You get a balloon and ice cream.

Well, yeah, that’s what I always thought, too, but evidently someone who’s managed to weasel grant money out of somegrouporanother begs to disagree. I think he’s full of…um. Well. You know.

Yeah. Kai wants to know if Brody can come over and play, all right.

I’m hoping we don’t get it here in town for another week. We’re going to The Midwest GeoBash this weekend, but I really want to see Willy Wonka, too, so I’m hoping to see it next weekend.

Those two data points might have something to do with each other. I’m just sayin’

Speakin of snips, Did ACBG have sumpin snipped off? A circumcision? A tattoo removed? A vasectomy?

Oh and didn’t you just have a birthday a coupla months ago Swampy? or am I losing it?

VunderBob, are you officially all healed up and stuff?

I’m sure I’m missing a bunch o stuff, but I’m forgetful. My liberry is closed.

-Bumbadeweydecimal

When you preview, you have to check the box again before you hit Submit. That’s how it works, as I’m about to prove.

Erm, Bumba, I don’t think ACBG need concern himself with a vasectomy. I’m just sayin…

ACBG had a little something removed in a delicate area. That’s all I’m sayin’. It’s his TMI to share not mine and since he ain’t a member it won’t get shared. Geez people! Ain’t y’all got no sense of propriety! :stuck_out_tongue:

I is a tired swampy tonight. See, I mowed two yards after I got home. Mine and ACBG’s. Mine’s the biggest and takes the longest, so I did it last. I went over to his house to check on him and his yard needed mowin’ bad! He has St. Augustine grass which wonderful stuff to run one’s toeses through but it’s thick. We had a metric buttload of rain this past week so it was really in bad need of mowing. So, I mowed it. It does not take long because his yard is small. I did it with a push mower in 30 minutes. Then I edged around his drive and walk ways and used his leaf blower to clean everything off. I ate some pizza (he ordered it) and then I came home and mowed, edged and cleaned off my driveway and walkway. I just got out of the shower. WHEW! ACBG is doing fine. Says he’s not going to take a knock out pill this evening cause nothing hurts. Tomorrow morning he has a doctor’s appointment which I have to drive him to cause he can’t drive til the doctor says so which will most likely be tomorrow. So, I’ll leave work and go get him, take him to the doctor, go back to work, then go get him when he’s through. His house and the doctor’s office are both real near my office so I can do that.

The heat pump installers got through about 3 this afternoon. My new heat pump/ a/c system is coolin’ away! I can tell a difference. The claim is I should see about a $60.00 difference in my electric bill. We shall see.

Good thing you put that smiley in there. Otherwise I’da wondered if you knew where you were…

My brain is tired from having run along with the dogs up there. Along fences, chasing each other…between the Brody/Lucy story and the CurrentDog story, I’m plumb wore out. So I think I’ll go crawl into bed.

Is it the weekend yet? Wake me up when it is, please.
